It's funnier if you watch it. Reading about it is funny enough, but watching it is better.
It's just that the episode ruffled some feathers in fandom, you'll understand why when you watch it. I found it terribly funny, and thought the people taking exception really shouldn't.
The episode made me see Kripke as someone who really loves the fans, unlike say Whedon. :)
