As you know, I'm moving soon and have encountered some unexpectedly high costs. Coupled with the fact the tables for ComicCon Glasgow go on sale today, and because people have suggested I do this, I'm putting up a PayPal donation request. I need to raise about £500 and, if I get to ComicCon, should be able to pay most of it back by the end of September.

was feeling a bit blue, this happened.

I was hacked the other day and in the process of fixing the problem and making sure nothing dodgy was happening I had to change multiple passwords. Which then led to none of the fic databases being able to connect because I totally forgot to go in and change them there...

Thank you so much to aadler for getting in touch and letting me know they were down.

They should be fixed now and back up and running - if anyone can't access anything please do let me know asap so I can fix 'em!

So last week velvetwhip messaged me asking if the WKA winners had ever been announced, to which my immediate was of course they had. Only it turns out they hadn't because even though I'd uploaded the banners that was all I had done. So I coded up the site and... Forgot. Again.

White Knight Awards...2013

Music is a big part of my life. Like… huge. And you may have noticed that I tend to share my love for powerful lyrics here, whether by using them as post titles, posting lyrics, or making fanmixes. (And if you haven't noticed: Hi. Haaaave you met Sho? *g*)

Anyway, in exactly six seven months and one day's time I celebrate a milestone birthday and I thought what I'd do is compile a CD's worth of songs that have and still do mean an extraordinary amount to me and put them up here in a six month prompt-athon.

I'd love it if y'all would take a look and if something here (or hell, all of it!) inspires you to create something please link me to the end result. No matter the fandom, the pairing, the lack thereof, the format. Anything. This music is part of who I am and you are all part of who I am and I just want to share that with you all.

I call it my "Life Begins..." challenge (guess what milestone I hit in December then…) and hope y'all will join in! My birthday's on the 30th December, but I'm not gonna force you all to POST BY THEN OR ELSE! 'cos this is meant to be fun. My way of sharing what I love with the people I love.

Been trying out a lot of new art techniques lately (instead of writing up my guiding qualification, yes, I'm procrastinating) and thought I'd share them here. Some of these are made following tutorials exactly so I'm not making them public or claiming creative credit - those that are unique to me are posted on my tumblr 'cos it's so much easier to upload them there from my phone...

For those of you who may not have seen this on Facebook, the wonderful Gil Mawson (nee Bristow) sadly lost her fight with breast cancer on 12th February. Gil was such an amazing person who was a massive part of the BBC Cult forums and the BBB yahell group. Gil was one of the good ones, one of the very best people I've ever met and I was so lucky to call her friend.

I'll miss you honey.

1 - I finally have it in writing that my landlord has committed to 'carry out appropriate repairs in a reasonable time' with regards fixing my (still) leaking roof.

2 - Spoke to the boss of the letting agency and he's negotiated a £75 reduction of my rent until this is all fixed.

3 - I went to my ATOS appeal yesterday.

4 - I... WON MY ATOS APPEAL YESTERDAY.

5 - I don't have to be reassessed by ATOS for another two years.

6 - I get a badfalcon next week.

7 - I get to go Nessie hunting with Cassie (and possibly Raintown) next week!

So basically? Things are looking pretty good today.

Of course the perfect flat fell through, and the only thing on the market right now in my price range is the one with the dealer up the stairs (he's not the problem, his customers are...) so I'm stuck in the hellhole for a little longer, but it can only be a matter of time, right?

Fandom snowflake day 3 will be coming tomorrow when I can copy/paste the links (stupid phone...)

okay, I'm very much in a BlackHawk mood these days and the absolute best place for that is be_compromised. It's been a little more quiet than it has been in the past but the quality more than makes up for that!

It took me a while to get in on the land comm craze and even though I can't do as much as I want to, my heart still belongs to leverageland (Team Grief FTW!)

And now I'm going to be completely self-indulgent and link to the site I've used as my reading list for years. Yup, White Knight Awards. *grins*

1 - We'd Be The Cavalry
Agents Of SHIELD/Leverage crossover, this fic is my most kudos'd fic over at AO3 and yet it took about five minutes to write. It just seemed to come together perfectly and is typical of the random crossovers my brain loves throwing at me.

2 - I still love this Clintasha art piece.

3 - The Jackal Effect
still love it, still wanna write the sequel...
