First: I fixed my lights! The idiot who wired up my fuse box had labelled them all in the wrong order. So I was fixing the fourth one when I should have been fixing the second. Luckily he did the labelling in pencil so I've fixed it now. But I fixed the fuse all by myself! Yay!

Second: I have a kidney infection!
Yeah, you read that right, I'm celebrating having a kidney infection. The reason for the celebration? It isn't appendicitis. Therefore I don't need an operation, therefore it's a thing to celebrate.

(Yeah, I've been keeping quiet about not being well this time, because it seems like I'm always sick one way or another. I've been off work for the past three days, mostly curled up sleeping and in pain. My tests I had done by the nurse on Monday came back this morning and I'm on antibiotics now. Huge relief, problem is I have to go to work tomorrow now...)

Third: I have some kind of red berries growing in my garden. Strawberries or Raspberries, I dunno, they're the size of raspberries but they're paler? Maybe they're not ripe yet... I found them when I got back from the doctor's and found next door's kids in my ~~wildlife reserve~~ garden trying to get their toy plane back. I helped them get it and found the berries. *g* See, my not doing the garden is for a reason - berries bring wildlife, which the Bengal Tigers roaming the grounds can eat so I don't have to feed them...

BOO! that you're not well (well, I picked up that you probably weren't by dint of being a stalker, but boo for kidney infections. Better than appendicitis, but still rubbish).

They're quite likely to be raspberries, if they're that shape and size, or even unripe brambles? Or it could be a logan berry, possibly. All make good crumbles and won't be ready to pick for a bit yet :)

I must have fixed the wrong fuse so many times... and every single light now has a new bulb in it in case that was the problem, but it took me standing back and thinking - why am I trusting this guy's fuse map? to fix it. *shakes head*

I'm just happy that there's something genuinly wrong with me that doesn't need an operation to be honest. Kidney infections suck, but antibiotics should clear it up soon and I'll be good to go before you know it.

I've been watching Dark Angel again, I have a grin on my face at the mention of logan berries... Although Alec berries would be better... *g*

I was thinking it was just a bug so when the nurse said it might be appendicitis on Monday she threw me for a loop. The doctor's still worried about the pain - it doesn't tie in with the infection - but we'll see how the antibiotics deal with it.

My garden is currently the kind of place one needs a machete to get through. And I just read Life of Pi, hence my fascination with Bengal tigers - I tried calling out for Richard Parker but nothing doing... *g*

Various versions of raspberry like Tayberry or loganberries - or they could just be unripe ;) The bengal tigers will probably snack on the neighbours kids if they are off fruit.

Kidney infections hurt like crazy, so yay for antibiotics hopefully they will kick in soon.

The doctor's a little concerned that the pain is at my ribs rather than at my kidneys, so she wants me to keep an eye on that. Of course, that fact that I was mown down my a cyclist and cracked a rib in the last six months might have something to do with it so... I'll see how it goes with the antibiotics.

The kids freaked me out. They treated me like I was an adult, that's just wrong. I still remember being the kid and having to dare someone to go ask for the ball back when it landed in the crazy lady's garden, now I apparently am the crazy lady... it's wrong dammit!

btw... d'you have hex code for the background colour on the AVAs? I looked at the source but I couldn't see it...

it should be #XXXXXX (without the X's) is it #6699CC? That's the closest I found.

I saved the home page as HTML and opened it in JEdit and came up with 6699cc (a web 'safe' color) but it might be that you have it as 0C2D5A which is a recognised color but not 'web safe' - i.e. not recognised by older than IE5 browsers).

*grins* yup, I've been able to do most DIY since I was a kid and I don't tend to shy away from most things, apart form electricity and plumbing... they scare me. So changing the fuse on the lighting circuit? I'm so proud of myself right now!

*touchwood* I've never been a patient in a hospital since I was born, but I've been a visitor lots of times. I.. don't get on well with hospitals, so anything that keeps me out of them is a good thing!

Electricity is definitely something not to be messed with. My dad taught me well, and my science teacher as well (who knew my dad oddly enough!) but I still have to have my Reader's Digest "How To Do Just About Anything" bible in front of me when I'm doing it!

It sounds so silly, but knowing that there actually *is* something wrong is as much a relief as knowing what it is - does that make me insane?

Hopefully the antibiotics will kick in soon enough and I'll be back to normal asap!

Electricity and plumbing are the only DIY things I've never felt comfortable with - although I've been able to change a plug since I could say the word "Screwdriver" - so to be able to fix this is a huge deal for me. And makes me annoyed at myself for not having fixed it when the fuses first blew weeks ago!
