Did some playing on
_inthedarkness last night and remembered just how much I love this kind of thing - writing with other people I respect like this? It's like crack.Thank you
emeraldswan for helping me remember how much I love doing it! Oh, and the ongoing scene - remind me I have something to float by you when we next chat about it. Not so much a twist, but action rather than words. Okay, I'm trying to be vague and it's not working - I'll email you about it before I drive us both nuts! And I'm going to make a concerted effort to get back into
_dontcomehome_ and the other project that's not quite started yet. *g*
Still no good news on the work problems front - at least the publishers have gotten in touch with me now though, so it's not as if I'm shouting into a void about it all.
Other things - hope to have fic of some kind finished by the end of today (there's two likely candidates butif I think too hard in their direction they'll shrivel up and die on me again so it will need to be a surprise!), I'm working on layouts for my journal, Effects... and the new site CIHY which I hope to launch in a month. Hopefully.
Other than that I have very little planned - well, apart from going to the cinema repeatedly from the 8th October onwards. This is the reason I didn't cancel my unlimited pass... Roll on Serenity!
I have excema on my legs. On my inner calves, thighs and behind my knees. It's very annoying most of the time but that's pretty much it - it's an annoyance and is ugly. That I can deal with (I wear jeans or combats as a rule, it's not as if many people ever see the blotchy mess of cracked and dead skin that makes up the lower part of me *g*) I take Piriton (antihistamine) both for it and my hayfever but it seems to have been losing it's ability to make a difference lately. Last night it went from an annoyance to actual pain. And blood. And loss of sleep. And inability to get to sleep. And resulted in me standing under a scalding hot shower at three o'clock this morning because the pain from almost burning myself was the only way I could ignore the pain from the excema.
Yes, I'm aware of how unhealthy that is but it really is the only thing that works when it gets bad - one of the things which causes the initial reaction is white parrafin (or however it's spelled) and guess what the base of most creams is? So I can't use most creams and lotions which are designed to treat this thing, my only option when it's bad is to shift my focus - hence the scalding water.
So my question - and yes, there is a question in here - does anyone have any suggestions for other treatments? Anything that works? I know I'm realtively lucky with this - it usually is just annoying, but after a night like last night, I need to do something.
Okay - you can look again, don't worry there weren't any pictures!
Lost and Veronica Mars weren't up on any of the sites when I left this morning so it'll be another day before I get to see them. They're up now, but I can't get the dl started from here. Grrr.
I'm closing on another Firefly quote, just 'cause I can!
Wash (looking at the statue ofJayne): I think they captured him, though. Y'know, captured his essence.
Kaylee: Looks sorta angry, don't he?
Wash: That's kinda what I meant.
