Woo Bloody Hoo!!!
I've just come from a "chat" in my boss' office. They're restructuring my department, my heart kinda sank when I heard that because I've always known my position is the one that they could justify getting rid of straight away. So I'm already thinking, this could be good, it'll get me out into the jobs market again and that'd be great 'cause it'll get me working at something I enjoy again. But no. Even better than that. I'm swapping roles with the woman in our department who's responsible for maintaining the web pages and setting up links to electronic journals and databases.

A job I applied for a couple of years back but didn't even get an interview for because my boss hated me at the time.

Yay! I might actually remember what it is about working in this place that I liked for a while!

I'm really excited about this - can you tell?

Cheers! I know it sounds kinda like dull work a little but the way Mags (my boss, who isn't really called Mags, it's just what I call her) kept saying "You have a lot of IT skills which aren't really being utilised in your current position" just about had me glowing. I'm almost bouncing in my seat now, except I'm not, 'cause that would cause more muscle pain - how the hell is my lower back sore from riding a bike?!!

*grin* back to happy now!

Congratulations! I'm glad your going to get a job that you'll actually enjoy! Sorry about your muscle pain though!

Thanks! I've just come from a big meeting where it got announced to all the supervisors and everyone seems quite happy with the changes so again I say "Yay!"

Yay! That's fantastic!

What's brought about this sudden outbreak of common sense and decency at your place of work? Very strange.

Lower back could be from leaning forward a lot on the bike, if you don't ride that much?

I'm not really sure where the change of heart is coming from - we just changed suppliers for the water coolers though, maybe there really is something in the water!

Mags is taking a career break soon as well, her last day for a year is next Thursday so maybe this is kind of an olive branch so I'll put money into her leaving gift... *grin*

Well done Sho... I'm feeling a little lump of proudness now....

Thanks Jackie - sure that's proudness though and not guilt? *grin*

No, seriously, if it wasn't for your encouragement when I was starting out I would probably never have gone down that route and definitely wouldn't be in this position todat - I owe you one!

Hmmmm.... I'll remember that... *evil grin/laugh*

Erm... sorry there

Seriously though, it's not a problem... you've given me enough tips since I've forgotten it all.

But well done again *G*
