I've been doing the job I'm in for coming up on three years, most of you know I hate it and I'm finally getting transferred to another position at the start of July. I'm still going to be doing this job until the woman I'm swapping with comes back from her summer holiday but after that I can wash my hands of it completely. Yay!

So why is it, I've got this pile of things that have been sitting for a while because no one knows what to do with them and suddenly I'm capable of clearing them? Is it because I no longer care? Could be, except for one problem, I never cared in the first place so why would I start now? Hmm. Anyways, I guess I should get back to clearing my desk and trying to hide the grin on my face then!

We kind of had a bit of a meeting with the staff to explain what was going to be happening and I actually almost felt my jaw drop when the big boss mentioned that the job I'm currently doing will actually be done by two people in the near future. So, she's been on my back for three years about how I work and now suddenly it takes two people to do what I do? This place is damn lucky to have me. (hey, I'm allowed to be egotistical once in a while, amn't I? ::worried smile::)

Glad you like it. I would have liked to have gotten rid of 'By the emporers hand' bit as that's the title of the 'Graphic Novel' that it's from, but I couldn't figure out a way to do that without getting rid of Mara Jades name as well.

Grrr Arrrrgh.

Bitca boss came up to me whilst I was fighting with the printer - some of the stuff I do needs to be done on special paper which the printer can't feed through properly so I need to stand next to it constantly - asked me a question. I answered. Printer starts playing up so I try to stop it using all my special paper (it's got stuff pre-printed on it) which I'm running a little low on. She asks me the same question using different words, I give the same answer as before and she starts on this little rant.

Meanwhile the printer is spewing through loads of sheets of this paper and I end up over-printing something which realistically means I should do the whole print job again. I don't have enough paper for that. I mutter "don't do this to me!", bitca thinks I'm talking to the printer and says, "Oh I'll leave you to it, by the way I've just sent some things to print."

Despite the fact that I said to everyone ten minutes ago not to print because it was going to be busy for a while.

Her stuff prints okay, on the last four sheets of my paper.

I'm not smiling anymore.

It's not sad. I quite like my boss at work, but it's still the thought that I've got two weeks holiday starting this Saturday that's been dragging my arse out of bed at half five every morning for the past week and a half.

5.30's my normal wake up time anyway and I've not got enough days annual leave left to take a fortnight.

Not that I'm complaining (much) - the time I could have taken to have a proper holiday was used up going to Senior Partners and Fusion so I think I got a good deal there. *grin*

It's not the 5:30 wake up that's bothering me at the minute, that's my normal wake up time, it's the fact that I'm not sleeping well at the minute so I'm permanently feeling tired.

yeah, not sleeping is of the bad. I'm pretty much a terminal insomniac - I get by on about three to four hours a day and then crash once a month or so and just sleep for twelve hours straight. Not the healthiest way to be to be honest!

Thought you might like the icon - it's one of [livejournal.com profile] ludditerobot's. He does fandom ones like this a lot, I've got a Xander fan one he did as well.
