I have butterflies in my stomach now, very odd, haven't felt like this since I sat exams and that was longer ago than I care to remember right now. Spent a good bit of time last night working on a problem I've been having on my site and it's fixed. So the newest part of the site is ready to go live as soon as I do a little bit of graphics work on it which will be tonight.

I can't believe I'm actually nervous about this now! It's only a website, it's not that big a deal really, and yet I've got butterflies in my stomach about it.

I also have a really sore neck today which is annoying the hell out of me right now. A few years back I had this problem and had physio and x-rays to see what it was and seemingly one of the vertebrae in my neck has an extra piece of bone growing from it at an angle which makes it likely to trap a nerve. At the time I was given painkillers and a neckbrace and told the pain would go away but would probably come back at some point in the future if I did anything to aggravate it. Which apparently I have done, somehow, over the past few days. So, painkillers it is then, and driving is fun like this, no really it is. And since the painkillers I'm taking are pretty damn strong, it means no alcohol for a while, which is probably a good thing after yesterday's hangover...

ETA good grief I do a lot of heavy lifting in this place! And all of it before 9:30 am apparently. I am in so much pain right now it's not even funny....

Sho,
If you're in pain and are having problems with your neck they shouldn't be making you lift things (health and safety in the workplace and all that)!

Hope you feel better soon:) And no need for butterflies over the website, it's going to be excellent I'm sure!

Hey Beck! How're you doing? It feels like forever since I heard from you!

I'm guilty of trying to do too much in this place, there's about six boxes next to my desk that there's no way I'm lifting but somehow I decided that lifting piles of unboxed journals was different. A pile of 20 journals is pretty damned heavy, let me tell you! And when we get over 100 in every day that gives you an idea of how much I had to do so far...

The other thing is, I've never had manual handling training in this place. I've had it elsewhere but no certification or anything, and no one ever asked if I had so the company is definitely at fault, but, I was a health & safety rep a few years back at C&A so I know how much of it relies on an individual using some common sense, I guess I just don't take my own insane lack of common sense into account.... *grin* Hence my dropping a sledge hammer on my foot a few weeks back and hobbling around for days afterwards with a rainbow coloured (and slightly squished) big toe!

Thanks for the encouragement about the site, I know it won't be a complete mess because Denise [livejournal.com profile] smileawhile has been doing a lot of the php stuff, I guess I'm just a little freaked by the thought of the much wider group of people who'll be accessing it.

Hi Beck, how's it going? You're going to have to get your own LJ so that we can all catch up with what you're doing.

And Sho, you should know better if you used to be a H&S rep, even if you do have no common sense.

Yeah I know, but common sense and me haven't seen each other for a very long time...

And wholeheartedly agreeing on the "get Beck her own LJ" campaign!

I think we should start a 'get Beck her own LJ' petition.

I'll sign it...

Come on Beck... it's fun... we can all be insane together.

Well, it's exciting, the website!

As Beck says, you should definitely not be doing heavy lifting when you've got neck pain. The fact that you were once an H&S Rep. and therefore the one telling other people they shouldn't be doing heavy lifting does not alter this!

Definitely signing the 'Beck should have an LJ' petition! But I've already unsuccessfully tried to persuade her of this.

Oooo! Sandman icon! I wan't a Death one! *grin*

I know, I should know better, but I don't tend to think of these things until I'm at the stage of being in pain and then saying "Hmmm, shouldn't have done that then..."

Mmmmmm, Death...!

Mmmmmm, Kaylee!

Look at me - I'm no longer anonymous:(

Got a guilt trip posting to Sam's journal because I read the whole 'success - but it creates more work for the journal owner' message. I hadn't noticed that before, I'm usually so overcome by the 'success' bit! Anyways, I can promise you my journal will be the most basic of efforts and will not contain much in the way of riveting information - you have been warned!;)

Ok, so how come my message comes up with a funny cross button at the top?!

Paranoid much!*g*

LOL! Welcome to LJ and the cross is your option to delete the post...
