Made myself a cheese and ham sandwich last night when I got in from work and settled down to catch up on emails and what-not. The sandwich was actually quite tasty, surprising since I made it, and two minutes after I finished it I had a blinding headache on one side.

I do get migraines, this was not a migraine but my God it was painful! When my migraines were diagnosed I did the whole exclusion diet thing and the doctor ruled out cheese as a trigger so why am I suddenly headachey because of it? Odd.

Nice to see I have nothing going on in my life right now so I can stress about the headache-inducing effect of cheese isn't it? *grin*

I wear the cheese, it does not wear me.

I made a little space for the cheese slices... (the way things are going, that space will probably be in the bin, but still...)

Maybe you should start listening to String Cheese Incident to make up for the cheese deficiency in your diet.

Sorry about this Sho, don't want to depress you, but you can develop new triggers as you get older.

My dad now has a bundle of foods that bring on migraines. It started with chocolate, ice-cream and lard in his 20s, but as he's got older more foods bring on migraines and now he can't have caffeine, peanuts, stilton cheese, certain E numbers, MSG and things with flour improvers unless the flour improver is ascorbic acid.

Your migraine could have been brought on by that specific type of cheese or it may be a particular preservative in the ham you've developed an allergy to. (I know the additives in ham can be a problem for dad.)

But looking for a bright side, it might just have been s stress migraine brought on by finishing up your old job and getting ready for the move to the new one.

Beck.

I automatically ruled out the ham because I've never even thought about the fact it had preservatives and the fact there was cheese there which is a known trigger made me jump on that. Hmmm, might have to give it another go and try the exclusion thingy again. Although, I'm pretty much surviving on caffeine right now so I don't know if that'll work!
