[livejournal.com profile] smhwpf, in case I don't get the chance to say this before you go I just want to wish you a safe trip, have an enlightening time and take care of yourself. I have so much respect for what you're doing and I wish you all the best, most of all, stay safe.

Aw, thanks Sho! (and Elly!) While safety cannot be totally guaranteed in such circumstances, I'm certainly not intending on doing anything unnecessarily dangerous. One of the best guards against doing stupid things is the "affinity group" system - you do things as a group, and you do things you're all agreed on and comfortable with. (I think the Scooby Gang is actually a very good example of an affinity group, though like all groups things don't always work out as they should!)
