it's one of those days isn't it?
I can just tell, first the whole problem with the stupid thing I wiped the data from, then having to chop and change machines because the hard drive was on the verge of either exploding or developing artificial intelligence - I dunno, it was chattering away to itself all morning until IT came down and took it away. Then IT forget to set me up with permissions for most of the programmes I use on the new hard drive (including the dreaded Front Page, not that I'm too upset at that one!) and finally, I'm up in the common room, having my lunch when I realise the bread on my sandwich tastes funky. I turn it over and it's blue. How come I didn't notice that earlier? How come the loaf of bread I bought two days ago and have been keeping in the fridge has gone mouldy? Grrr.

I came back from lunch (such as it was) early to do some work on the challenge fic (working title: "When You Awake"). My head was chock full of ideas when I left the common room, I walked down from level 6 to level 3, sit at my desk and drew a blank. Typical. So now I'm going to ask the boss nicely if I can leave early today because a banana and a packet of Doritos do not a balanced lunch make. Not even when they're Tangy Cheese flavoured!

LOL! Thank you. Didn't get to leave early and am now officially hungry. Cajun chicken, roasted veg and rice are cooking right now and the smell is driving me insane...

Just make sure you've got enough chicken compared to the rice or you're going to be feeling hungry again soon. Something to do with eating too many carbohydrates compared to the protein you're eating. That's why a lot of people feel hungry about an hour after eating a Chinese style meal, they have too much rice, or not enough meat.

It'll have been too moist....
...the bread. The best place to keep it is somewhere cool and dry. I think the moisture in the fridge speeds up the moulding process or something. We've been buying the stuff in foil packaging, it does last a heck of a lot longer.

As for computer problems, have a look at some of the things on here and have a giggle, it's good for relaxing.

Re: It'll have been too moist....
I liked this one:

The second day I worked doing phone tech support, I was called by an elderly woman who was sobbing and panicked. After spending twenty minutes getting her calmed down, I finally found out what her problem was. She had been on the Internet and recieved the ever-popular message "This program has performed an illegal operation and will be shut down." Immediately afterward, she had heard police sirens down the road and thought, "They're coming to lock me up!"
