positivity takes a nose dive
I'm not bitching, much, but my god this place is sucking the life out of me! The job itself is fine, but the atmosphere here is like being in a room with the gravity turned up to twice human tolerance levels. Certain people seem to take great delight in making everyone else feel bad about themselves - I guess it's partly because the only way they can look good is if everyone else is made to look bad.

Just posted WaDaDM to INAP and ff.net as well as on here - I'm feeling pretty good about that story to be honest, it's gotten back into my system now which is a good thing I think!

Now if only I could get Crimson Regret to write itself...

I also have a bad headache this morning, the flourescent lights are driving sharp stakes into my brain, or perhaps it's the freshly installed WiFi network right above my desk, and I don't have my keys for my desk drawers which contain the only source of painkillers I have at the moment. Joy.

So, weird mix of feeling down, optimistic and headachey - maybe that multiple personality thing is finally kicking in....

Current Music: Buzzing of flourescent lights above my head...

that was my thinking behind the icon choice... *g*

it's odd, I am happy about some things but just looking at some people in this office is dragging me down.

So I'm giving myself something much better to look at.

(and I resent the use of the term 'chubby' btw, 'buff' is so much apt!)

Hey. Chubby's good, can't beat a bit of Chubbyness. (That wasn't *too* defensive was it?)

lol!

but in connection with NB it's no longer appropriate...

My god, the arms on that man... (sorry, off drooling in the corner now!)

*Mutter mutter grumble grumble* Bloody NB going and getting himself all buffed up *grunble grumble* Just makes it harder for the rest of us who struggle with our weight. *grumble grumble*.

Glad he's doing okay now though.

Watch out - your bitterness is showing there...

*g*
[identity profile] rileysaplank.livejournal.com on September 6th, 2004 03:37 am (UTC)
Me, bitter, what gives you that impression?

Andy
[identity profile] whiskyinmind.livejournal.com on September 6th, 2004 03:38 am (UTC)
nah, you're like the Murphy's aren't you?
[identity profile] rileysaplank.livejournal.com on September 6th, 2004 03:40 am (UTC)
No, you were right the first time, I'm very bitter and twisted. *sob*

Aw... cheer up, I know the feeling!
[identity profile] rileysaplank.livejournal.com on September 6th, 2004 03:45 am (UTC)
You think you're getting yourself sorted out, then someone goes "Hmm, he's yummy" and you know they're not talking about you and it just wants to make you eat more, and then you end up feeling all guilty for putting weight on, which makes you want to eat more. It's a vicious cycle I tell you, a vicious cycle.

Chewing gum and water, works for me.

(well, that and looking at the pictures of me with NB and realising how big I look in them...*g*)
[identity profile] rileysaplank.livejournal.com on September 6th, 2004 03:52 am (UTC)
Yeah, but those photos don't do you justice, you look much better in the flesh, so to speak.

Aw shucks, thanks! The problem is that I have them framed and up in my living room where anyone can see them so I'm determined that the next lot I get done will look better - that gives me just under two months so... Slim Fast here I come! I'm not doing the SlimFast plan, it's the stupidest, most insane diet I've ever seen

All part of the service ma'am.

And it may be crazy, but it works at the time, but the weight doesn't stay off. *looking guilty* *grins*

yeah, I did it once a few years back - didn't really work for me.

But I've also got this whole trying to balance carbs and proteins so that my blood sugar stays level thing to worry about so, it's back to bog-standard calorie counting and running for me *g*

Ah, doing a Tru Davies now are we?

Yup, cept I have a better brand of sports bra than her.

I used to run all the time, plus I used to play basketball as well - I got out of the habit when I started travelling more than 15 miles to work but I'm trying to get fit again.
[identity profile] rileysaplank.livejournal.com on September 6th, 2004 04:12 am (UTC)
I used to do quite a bit of running when I was kid (well between 15 and 20 miles a week), but I stopped just before I was 13. Now when I run my knees have this habit of complaining then going bright red about 10 minutes after I've stopped.

see that's not a good sign - you need to ger some cod liver oil or something to help your joints before they just get worse.

Some non-weight bearing exercise (like swimming) might be better.
[identity profile] rileysaplank.livejournal.com on September 6th, 2004 04:24 am (UTC)
Been taking cod liver oil capsules regularly for the past six months or so. Would like the swimming, except I'm not that good a swimmer and it doesn't take me that long to get totally and utterly knackered.

This reply is in totally the wrong person's journal -but I'm too lazy to sort it out and I'm sure Sho will forgive me, so....*g*

Andy, pumpkin seeds are great for zinc. Unfortunately everywhere seems to be selling out of them really quickly at the mo. thanks to that 'you are what you eat' show, presumably that will die down soon though.

Beck.
