I'm ba-ack....
I'm still on a high from the weekend! That was so much fun - I spent an obscene amount of money and I'm lucky I didn't get paid in cash because I would have spent so much more. Yes, [livejournal.com profile] acrazywench and [livejournal.com profile] smileawhile - I would have joined in on the bidding. If I had the cash on me I'd have said screw it and pushed it to my entire wage slip just for that one thing...

*grin*

I will write up a proper report a little later, once my head comes down from the clouds a little - for just now, all I'll say is, I had a blast! I am now totally a convention junkie! There were 11 guests and every single one of them was just an absolute treat!

Although, I'm thinking right now that I don't remember seeing one of them do a talk on stage. Did I miss that or did he not do one? Maybe I was getting my photos done.

Hmmm. Must dig out the schedule again to see where I was at that point!

Edit - okay, so I found out where I was, the guy did do a talk on stage but I was away hugging someone wearing the softest shirt I have ever seen... The fact that the guy wearing the shirt was a very tactile and very good looking actor didn't hurt either! (the hug was only for the photo session unfortunately...)

So you had a good weekend then? :)

Oh yeah. It rocked!

I was thinking Dayne Johnson didn't do a talk - but maybe I too was in the land of hugs! (Really it would have been cool if he'd done a make up demonstration - but maybe CK didn't feel comfy about the idea of us all watching his chest so intently because we were so interested in Dayne's make up demonstration?)

Every time I think about the money I spent on the weekend all I have to remember is that I didn't opt for the £300 a ticket weekend and I automatically feel virtuous!*g* (Cunning, huh?)

Now as far as I remember I didn't swing my bag round wildly or anything, so how is it that the Casefiles book I've owned for less than two days which spent practically all of its time in a bag is more bashed up than my Watchers Guide which I've had for years, has been read several times and has been taken to four events around the country?! Bit pointless my being so anal about incredibly small scuffs on the spine when I was buying the thing - now it's got lots of huge ones and I can't think how it came by them since most of the time the bag was just under the seat in front of me! Oh well - I'll just have to get something more sturdy for signing and go and see all these people again!!

Wish I wasn't here right now - sleepy! - but well worth it for the great time I had this weekend. Hope I didn't pass on the lurgy to you both - obviously any crazy ramblings on Saturday night were totally the result of Beechams cold and flu capsules, and should not be linked to vodka consumption!*g*

Btw, it turns out that travelling through London without a broomstick is much easier! (Always good to know!*bg*)

Maybe we should have gone back to the party on Sunday after all - indications from the Browncoats site are that the Church of these Eleven Fingers performed its second ever marriage service!*g* The raffle was forgotten - but drawn at 1.30 - e-mails have been sent to the winners, so I guess that means our usual luck held out!

How cool would that have been?!

Officially recognised marriage and everything?

(and how much alcohol was involved?)
[identity profile] acrazywench.livejournal.com on November 2nd, 2004 10:54 am (UTC)
Actually I doubt the marriage would be legal here unless the couple already had the licence and the room is currently recognised as an official place where peeps can get married. Also, not so sure of the legal status of Jonathan's ordination over here - but hell, it would have been fun to witness!! Next time we're definitely going to have to try to make it back into the parties after they start! Hope Jonathan comes to something next year - so funny! If communion happens again, I'm there!*g*

There's already some great pics up on the Starfury messageboard. Oh and I checked out the Serenity site - Dusty Bottoms was the question that never was! (Let's hope I remember it for next year.)

Also, and how strange is this, there was something on late last night with a bunch of people commenting and one of them was 'Linda, I can't remember her surname, but her first name's definitely Linda'! Anyway, her surname is Smith:) Don't you feel better for knowing that?!

I'm still shattered! I slept for a few hours yesterday afternoon when I got back and spent most of the evening in a daze.

If he does communion again I'm going to have to insist he uses a single malt instead of a blend! Or if he does *have* to use a blend then I'll give him a bottle of Grouse - so much better than the crap that is Bells!

But yeah, I'm so there as well! Hopefully he will come across again - he seemed to have a good timeso chances are pretty good that he will! Have you found the website for the Church yet? I don't have my con book with me today and I was avoiding the web in the house - I just know I'll have 5 millions to trawl through!
[identity profile] acrazywench.livejournal.com on November 2nd, 2004 11:14 am (UTC)
Sounds like the guys bought the alcohol at the garage - so you can't blame them for only having blends available for communion!*g*

The link for the website is:

LOL - yeah, someone should have given the garage the head's up that a whole bunch of people were going to descend at the weekend so that they could have gotten better stock in ....

Thanks for the link! He wasn't kidding when he said it was only one page was he? *grin*

Nope! But maybe the success of this weekend will encourage them to add more! Looks like some people have tried e-mailing but the e-mails have been bouncing - maybe the inbox for the site is full already!

Already getting stupidly excited about Serenity's release now I've seen the trailer - can't believe we've got about 6 months to wait!!
[identity profile] whiskyinmind.livejournal.com on November 2nd, 2004 11:35 am (UTC)
I wanna see the trailer again!

Which reminds me, I'll send you the crappy version tonight!

And I'll make myself some more Firefly icons while I'm at it!

Dayne and Carrie were onstage on Sunday at 11 - according to the schedule anyway (and we both know how well that one worked out!) so we were both in the land of the hugs at that point.

It would have very cool if Dayne had done a demo, maybe he did, but it wouldn't have been on Chris 'cause he was in the land of the hugs with us!

Welcome back!

And belated Happy Samhain!

Thanks Sam! Sorry we didn't get to meet up again, maybe next time!

Welcome back! I'm so glad you had fun. Then again, I can't imagine you not having fun there.
