The Pratchett ref, I was racking my brains trying to remember the book and I can't. I do now it's one of the early Archchancellor Ridcully ones - there's a footnote about the kind of managers who say "my door's always open"...

in fact, I'm lying. It's "Eric" - about the demon lord of hell whose name I can't remember. There may be a similar reference in a Ridcully book though.
