*yawn*
so after sitting down and realising just how much caffeine I take in on one day, I decided to really cut back.

I've been up for three hours now and haven't had any coffee, tea, cola, chocolate, Irn Bru or anything else that might have caffeine in it. In fact, all I've had so far this morning is a glass of apple juice. (Yes [livejournal.com profile] acrazywench I didn't actually eat anything for breakfast again). I'm so sleepy!

That's got to be a bad sign, right? Like I've been depending on caffeine too much?

I'll see how long this actually lasts for, tea break is in just over two hours. I have to make it that far at least, and once I'm there? Maybe I can push it to lunch time ...

ETA no new icons today, sorry.

Be carefully I actually got really sick when I inadvertently cut out all of the caffeine that I drank in a day. I drink a lot of caffeinated pop (ie coke/pepsi) when I am at work (on average it was about 5-6 cans per week). I got super sick from the withdrawal from the caffeine. I got all shakey and headachey. I ended up drinking the same amount of caffeine but slowly cutting it back. I am now down to about 2-4 cans/week. Right now has been bad because I've been so busy. My dad said he experienced the same thing when he cut back his coffee at first.

I'm already kinda headachey this morning which really can't be good. I drink at least five cups of coffee a day, sometimes more, plus caffeinated juices - I'm Scottish, I can't not drink Irn Bru... *grin*

That's waaaay too much, but yeah, I don't think it's a good plan to go cold turkey completely. Cutting back seems to be the best way to go.

Yeah but slowly cut back... like cut down 1-2 cups a day not all at once. Caffiene is apparently a really harsh addiction... and easily addicted to.

Yep, cutting caffiene out completely isn't always the best plan. My Mum's bright idea about 10 years ago to get my dad off drinking so much coffee was to replace it with decaf. Good idea, but there was a slight misfire - Dad's now allergic to caffiene!

No breakfast?! Shame on you!!

Beck.

I know, I really should eat breakfast...

I will, one of these days!

EAT BREAKFAST

Maybe then you wouldn't feel quite as sleepy as you do.

But cut back slowly on the caffeine. If you cut it out completely you'll get really headachey and irritable.

I'm researching through online journals right now to see how bad this can actually get. So far the flu-like symptoms and the five day headache are the really worrying ones....

Yeah, I remember a few years back my mum picked up some decaffeinated coffee by mistake. Her headache lasted about 4 days. It was about then that we discovered what had happened.

And of course Matt's not helping at all - so far he's said the withdrawal hits harder and faster than heroin withdrawl, and then proceeded to take about Macchiato's with bitter chocolate on the side...

grrr

Slap him. Blame it on the caffeine withdrawal symptoms.

:)

LOL!

Yeah, might just do that....
