And at least you got told about the secret santa thing. I only found out yesterday that they had done one at my work and they hadn't bothered to tell me. So that's made my bah humbug mood even more bah humbuggy. Sorry (/rant)

That kinda sucks about your work - did they apolgise for not including you? (I only found out about mine when I was paying the deposit for the meal and asked if there was going to be one this year.)

Nope, no apologies. The other person that works in the Chill of our department didn't get told about it either so that's made us feel as though we're both 'part of the team'. Is it any wonder I want to get a new job now? But at least I know I wasn't the only only one who was forgotten about. The excuse was that it was up on the noticeboard, which me and the other guy hardly ever get a chance to see because from the moment we walk in the door to the moment we go out we're constantly busy, so never get a chance to stop for five minutes and read the notice board, which everybody in our department knows. So as usual, we get left out again. Sorry, I'm ranting again.

I'm happy for you that your birthday was remembered.

But then you'd have to go through school again, backwards. And why does everybody get hung up about their age anyway? It's only a number, it doesn't mean anything.

well, since my flowers are currently in the sink in the staff loos, people have been coming up all day and asking what the occasion is - when I tell them what birthday it is they all say "you're never that old!" Most of them are putting my age at around 4 or 5 years younger than I am - so right now, I'm happy to freeze at that.

Ach well then. As long as you're happy with it. It's good that people don't think you're that old, and I wouldn't have put you at that age either.
