I'm so not a morning person
I've just realised this, took me a while. For the last five years or so I've been getting up at stupid o'clock (read 5:30am) so that I can get to work in time. Every time someone at work hears that they say "I don't know how you do it." My reply is always, "You get used to it."

No you don't. You don't get used to getting up at the same time you used to get home from a night out, you definitely don't get used to barely seeing your house in daylight even at the height of summer. You don't get used to it.

Can you tell I'm tired?

I left work before I had the chance to say this last night - good luck [livejournal.com profile] engelsteorra! You'll get it I'm sure!

I'm sorry that you're so run down, sweetie! And I can understand why you're sad! I know go to bed at the same time I used to leave the house to go clubbing or see my friends!

*smiles* I guess it's one of those things about getting older that I just hadn't really thought would bother me as much. I basically have no social life to speak of these days because I'm generally so tired out from work that I'm not the best of company. *sigh*

It's not the best time of year for me right now, a lot of bad memories mean everything that's niggling me gets amplified to the extent where it's the end of the world.

Give me a month and I'll be okay again.

No. You never get used to it. I've been getting up at 5:30 for three days a week for the past year, and I'm not used to it. When I worked constant nightshift for a year and barely saw the sun except for my days off, I never got used to it. You adapt to it, you don't get used to it.

*hugs*

Being depressed about getting older is also something I am well-acquainted with...I turn 37 tomorrow!

And it's okay to be yourself! I like you whether you're horribly depressed or deliriously happy!

This IS a sad time of year, isn't it?

It's very close to both my mother's birthday and the anniversary of her death. Plus it's also my niece's birthday this week so I have very mixed feelings about January.

I'm sorry about your mom, sweetie! :::hugs you:::

thanks, it's been four years now and although I do miss her every day it's only really at times like this that it really affects me.

Of course you miss her! My grandmother's been gone for over ten years and my grandfather for twenty, but I still miss them every day!

If you need a shoulder or an ear...I'm right here, oaky?

the feeling is mutual, believe me. I know we don't get to chat all that often, even on LJ, but sometimes what's said is what counts, not how often. You're living proof of that.

Thnak you, Shona! And you're absolutely right...quality counts. And you always say the nicest things!
