Heh heh!
So I watch Stargate, all its incarnations, and since I'm watching 'Brief Candle' on Sky for the umpteenth time I think it's time to admit I'm probably a fan of the show...

Brief Candle is the episode from season one where Jack is infected with nanobots causing him to age rapidly. The episode has just finished and I'm just about rolling on the floor laughing in a very childish fashion. How ridiculous does Sam Carter (Amanda Tapping) sound when she says "without these little buggers in your system"?! The inflection is so in the wrong place and it's clear she's never used the word 'bugger' in her life before.

Makes me laugh anyway!

Americans using British swear words, when are they gonna learn how to use them properly? Don't they realise how much of an arse it makes them look when they say, or inflect, it wrong.

*g* I'm almost sure this was planted in the show to give it international appeal - all the Brits are going to find it hilarious when they hear it.

Plus I know JW mentioned that he loved dropping in UK swearing into Buffy and Angel 'cause the censors over the Atlantic had no bloody clue what he was doing!

Yeah, I'm sure I saw him mentioning that in an interview somewhere, 'specially Wanker.

And Spike doing the Vs in 'Hush' - the beeb cut it on the original but then it was in the credits pretty much from there on!

*giggles childishly*

Yeah, the V sign is VERY english, well British now, but it originated in England.

Jack O'Neill is just about my fav male char (of course my future wife is ahead of him for overall favourite) in TVland.

When he's a prisoner of Anubis or Aphosis and mothing off at them, or taking the mickey of Kinsey.

Sometimes I'm holding my ribs they're hurting so much with laughter.

I agree, Jack is one of the best characters out there!

I really like all of the SG characters actually, including Atlantis ones - Dr Beckett makes me smile every time he opens his mouth! (Give him a slightly more female voice and that's my accent!)

Teal'c was great from the start.

Daniel and Carter took time to grow, they were too accademic (often their brains didn't allow them to grasp practicalities of military sitches, they were too caught up in their theories to see danger around the corner kicking their ass). But all in all a good team.

I liked Daniel from the start to be honest, I always kind of identified with him because he was the outsider trying to fit into the military situation - I grew up near a couple of naval bases and always felt the outsider amongst the military brats at school (at my school they were either military or farmers - I was neither)

A few episodes at the start, Daniel was Buffy-like in his single-mindedness. Sometimes I was shouting at the screen "For god's sake Jack! Leave the bloody tosser!"

The one with the map of the galaxy or the elements was one example, you know in a castle that was falling around them as the plonker tried to record them.

See, the librarian in me understands where he was coming from and sympathises with him.

But the rest of me was screaming 'Get the hell out!' at him at the screen...

Once h understood there was no 'I' in team, I was down with Daniel. And the banter between him and Jack was great on occasion.
