It's odd that you think you know someone, you chat to them on Messenger, you exchange emails, you count them as a friend and then one little difference in opinion and you find you don't know them at all.

I've been talking to someone on Messenger who was following the 'debate' and as soon as I swore he said to me that if the other person even thought he knew me a little bit he'd back right off since it takes a lot for me to swear at people. He didn't, and by that point he'd already taken me off his friends list. I genuinly don't understand why a little disagreement lead to that.

My take on it is that... some people feel when you're voicing your opinion (Which, really, you weren't even doing much of) that you're telling them what they should feel. Or some such. I don't really know, but if I'm reading my membership rolls right, he also quit PYGS. I don't get it.

He's just asked me if he can delete his account from INAP as well. I hope it's not a knee-jerk reaction to something which seems to have been blown out of proportion. I, like you, just don't get it.

Yeesh. I don't know, I mean, I don't wanna get in a whole 'bash the hell out of 'the guy'' thread here, but that all just seems really childish

Yeah, I don't want to attack him at all because before this we were friends, and I hope that after things have cooled down that we can be friendly again - or at least cordial. I think it's a knee-jerk reaction and I hope he takes time to reflect on it.

No, actually, it was very out of the blue. And reading it, I got pissed on your behalf, and that other guy, m_mcgregor (?) something (sorry, bad memory). while your, and m's points were valid, it seemed like keith was just looking to have an agrument.

But, even in EoD, keith rubbed me the wrong way. There was just something...dunno...off, whenever I talked to him. Though, I remember him being very defensive once in an IM chat when I asked him to set up a scene instead of just randomly posting.

Some people are just like that though, always looking to stir up something.

It completely blindsided me to be honest, I genuinly thought he and I were friends so for him to lash out like this just took me aback. I know he has a bit of a gruff exterior sometimes but he could be really sweet and funny under that. Or at least I thought he was.

I read your last post, though I did not reply to it, and I cannot see why anyone would be offended by anything you said. It was exceedingly tactful in its honesty and I thought you made points that EVERYONE could and should agree with! Oh well, guess that's just me!

Thanks Gabrielle, it wasn't really the original post that caused the problem I don't think. It was in the replies. He took offence at something and lashed out at me when I tried to step in. He kinda picked the wrong day to get on my bad side, he really did upset me with some of the things he said and I wasn't in the mood to lie down and take it.

I think he felt everyone was ganging up on him and had a knee-jerk reaction, all he did was show me how far off my view of him was.

I'll have to go back and read through that! But you are an exceedingly civil and civilized woman, even when your ire is aroused. So I still cannot fathom this creature's irrational actions towards you!

I did swear at him at one point, which I probably shouldn't have done, but that was after things had been blown out of the water.

I went back and read the entire thread and, while you did curse, he was by far more abusive in both tone and content. Using a four-letter word does not automatically make you the primary violator of civilized discourse. He was rude, mocking, paralogical, and insulting! He was completely out of line and I thought your response was restrained! Mine would have been FAR more "colorful"!

You were restrained! You didn't use any of the highly-coloured terms or phrases that leapt to my mind upon reading his comments! Many of them seemed to spring out of an entirely different discussion altogether and had absolutely no connection to the topic at hand, which only added to the level of anger and irritation I felt on your behalf while reading his apoplectic little screeds!

You already know my views on this. I just hope Keith takes a few days to reflect on what he's done tonight, and the kind of person he's been tonight. I hope after that reflection he decides he doesn't want to be that person. That is my hope but, as tonight's shown, you can never tell.

Thanks Andy. I hope so too. He's as entitled to his opinion as anyone, and he's as entitled to make his case as anyone - I wouldn't have it any other way - personal attacks on the other hand are uncalled for.

Just read it and, tbh, the point that seemed to spark him off was valid, and when you asked the two of them to take their arguments off your comments page (which is kinda like asking them if they want to go and take their punch up out of your house, in virtual terms) m_mcgregor did. Keith didn't which shows a lack of respect for you as a person, so you were well within your rights to get pissed off. Plus, he can't say that you're repressing his views, it's not as if you've deleted any of his comments.

Hope you're bearing up okay though.
