I was trying an experiment there to see if I could last the day without posting to this thing but apparently I can't. I have no willpower...

Actually, I'm looking for a favour. I'm going to a burlesque night fairly soon (with [livejournal.com profile] engelsteorra and [livejournal.com profile] smileawhile as well as a whole load of folks from the library) and there's a dress code. So I'm jumping at the opporchancity to dress up for it and since I'm fairly handy with a sewing machine, I kinda thought I'd have a go at making something. What I'm looking for are patterns for corsets. Potentially akin to the Vamp Willow outfit so I can reuse the outfit for conventions. I've had a quick glance through some of the more obvious pattern sites but to no avail. Help, anyone?

edit I have completely forgotten what I'm doing today. I have a mountain of work on my desk but I can't quite recall which part of it I was working on... My sieve like brain is obviously beginning to affect my work as well now, I should go home. :)

I am absolutely no help with the corset pattern, all I can offer is lots of enthusiasm about the night out :o). But I do have all the tickets nice and safe in my bag (along with a certain episode of Scrubs and Season 1 Gilmore Girls).

heh! And to think I shouldn't really be posting on this anyway since it's inapproriate use of the internet priviledges or something...

I'm fine, here, bored, and looking foward to getting my hands on those shows! (didn't do any iconing last night but I do have the pictures saved to my laptop and since the vast departmental conspiracy has put everyone else on early breaks I may just have to sit up in the staff room and drool over the pictures some more!)

Janette has given me lots of advice on where to go to get hold of lots of PVS. Quite how she knows in intimate detail exactly which shops to go to I don't really want to dwell on... :)

If you e-mail me your address I've got a pattern for either an Edwardian or a Georgian corset at home. It'd probably need adapting, but all the basics are there.

I agree with the going home thing BTW, seriously considering doing it myself.
