Yay!
Finally!

I got the essay finished, I still think it ends a little abruptly but I've fidgeted with it for way too long now and I was determined to post it during Xander Month. Anyways, if you're interested it's posted over on [livejournal.com profile] with_character right here

Plus? New icon for it!

OOOhhhhh, I like. But you realise I'll be watching for all this now.

At least you can look on it as research for ITD!

It's great, Sho :)
If I ever bring myself to rewatch S7 I'll be looking out for all of that. I never really payed attention the first time round.

That's a remarkably incisive essay from what is, as you say, at first sight unpromising material.

One thing I'm trying to remember - were there any instances of "petty" Xander in S7? I can't recall any. That's something which, however much Xander had grown, had always shown itself from time to time before, especially in relation to Spike and Angel. But, while there was the odd snide joke, I can't remember an instance of the real nastiness Xander occasionally displayed. I wonder if that's something the traumas of end S6 had finally grown him out of.
