Okay something's seriously wrong with this picture. I'm leaving my house at around 8am tomorrow morning to pick up the girls and head to the airport to fly down to the convention. Right now I should be in a mild state of panic because I don't have a suitcase, or maybe not able to find my flight confirmation or some other piece of paper I need.

So why am I not? I'm packed, the dog's at the kennels, the car's cleared out mostly (it was raining so I didn't get a chance to vacuum out the dog hair from the back seat, I may have to put a blanket down so smileawhile or engelsteorra don't end up with white hairs all over their clothes... *g*). I'm done. I'm ready to go and I can't shake the feeling I'm missing something...

Ah well, this time tomorrow? I'll be headed for the main hall at the Serenity convention waiting to see what these vaunted 'surprises' are going to be. Given that the surprise at the last convention I was at was Nathan Fillion, they're going to have to go some to top that!

So I'll be gone for a few days, and when I come back I'll probably be insufferably cheery. Sorry!

Wow, that’s not actually that easy a question to answer! Um… I have two, Xander and Faith. Xander because he’s the voice of the common man as it were – he’s the ‘in’ for the viewing audience. And Faith because she’s so complex and ambiguous, we don’t know much about her past but I for one adore watching her try to get as far from it as possible. ETA Can I add a third? River Tam. Screwed up, sweet, nuts, adorable - what more can I say?

2) Who is your favourite author and why?

Actual author, Orwell. Not really because of the quality of his writing or anything, but because of the memories I have of reading his books for the first time – my dad and I would talk about what I’d read. I treasure the memory of those conversations/debates/arguments so Orwell will always be one of the first names I think of.

3) What would you say is your biggest accomplishment to date?

Graduating with honours from university on the second try. My life got a little screwed up when I was 17/18 and I dropped out/was kicked out of the first uni I went to. (It was a mutual decision – I didn’t want to be there and they didn’t want me there) Going back into education was harder than I ever thought it would be and I almost bottled it a few times in the four years. I didn’t though, I made it through and got my Honours.

4) If you could travel to one country tomorrow without having to worry about cost, where would you go and why?

Egypt. I’m fascinated by the history of the country and although I’ve been to North Africa I’ve never made it there.

5) If you could meet one famous person, who would you meet and why?

Joss. Or Simon Pegg. Their imaginations amaze me and I’d love to sit down with them and find out what makes them tick.

That is just a cruel thing to ask. It’s really close but I think I’m going to have to say Faith. (I know – stand back in amazement!)

2. What is your alcoholic drink of choice?

I tend to drink beer (Budvar for preference) when I’m out, but I’d say my drink of choice is actually Tequila.


3. What is the most important thing in your life at the moment?

My nephew and niece – my nephew’s 2 and a half and my niece is 15 months. And my dog Dram. (Sad, I know…)

4. What are you more excited about: Star Wars Ep. III or Serenity?

Without question Serenity. I’ve been let down once too often by Mr Lucas to get really excited about SW – I’m still psyched about it but I couldn’t tell you the exact date it comes out in the cinema.

Serenity on the other hand, I was saying this to smileawhile the other day, this is my fandom. I’ve been with it since the very beginning and when it says in the trailer “Loved by million of fans” I know I’m one of those fans. Sounds really egotistical, but this is mine – and yours, and smileawhile’s and acrazywench’s and smhwpf’s and all the other people out there who’ve seen this grow from a fantastic little over-looked show into one of the most anticipated films this year.

5. To steal one of yours: recommend to me a fic you think I probably haven't read: Any ship, any fandom, any rating.

Some Kind of Heaven – Buffy/Firefly crossover by emeraldswan. I can take or leave crossovers most of the time, at the moment there’s only two I’m actually reading - SKoH and More Than A Calling. *g*
