I've been running a fever since the weekend, not had any strength to do anything much more than move the mouse around or hold a pen for a half hour while staring at a blank page. And then on Tuesday the fun hallucinations started. And they won't leave.

There's an episode of SG1 where huge flying bug like aliens come through the gate but they're slightly out of phase so not everyone can see 'em. That's me right now. I genuinly am seeing huge slimy bug like things (and I mean Sci Fi huge) everywhere. I know they're hallucinations but it doesn't make life any easier. Suddenly jumping back and shouting 'Gah!' doesn't bode well for my colleagues opinions on my ongoing mental health.

At least the fever's coming down a little.

I have a really long rope in my garden which I tie the dog's lead to so he can run about while the gate's open and I don't have to worry about him making a break for it. The rope snapped this morning - not sure when. All I know is he was outside while I was making coffee and when I went out to bring him in to feed him there was no sign of the rope. I kinda panicked because when he was a pup he did used to wander if he wasn't on a lead and even though I live in a village the road outside my house is really busy with freight trucks. I turned round and there was Dram, sitting with the rope trailing after him, right next to my car in the driveway with this really innocent expression on his face.

So Dram's safe, I'm sick and seeing things, work sucks, and I have another Xander icon to make plus ten River ones to meet my quota this week. Plus, I need to work some more on CR and the ongoing post in [livejournal.com profile] _inthedarkness .

And, I need to do some work on the pitch for the Freshers' Fair [livejournal.com profile] engelsteorra and I are putting together.

*hugs*

Take care of yourself Sho, you should take yourself to the doctors. I know you don't like taking medication but they might be able to give you something that'll at least stop the hallucinations.

I'm glad Dram's safe. I have no doubt that although he loves you very much he would take every opportunity to go exploring the village on his own.

Get better soon yeah.

I did actually go to the doctor, saw the practice nurse yesterday. I'm dehydrated and running a fever so she wasn't all that surprised I was hallucinating things. Bugs crawling under the door were new to her, but apparently they (the hallucinations) come in all forms so she was more amused than anything.

I was told to lay off the caffeine as it's a diuretic and drink water until I can hear it sloshing around. If I don't do that she's threatened to put me on an IV drip so I'm down with the H2O right now. Plus she told me to take paracetomal which I will not do, unless they force feed me it I will not take it. Simple as that. The fever is coming down though, so I maybe don't have to.

Okay then. Just take it easy yeah.

Is there anything else you'd be willing to take that would do a similar job to Paracetamol? If so I think you should take some 'cos even though the fever is starting to come down, it'll help.

'brufen has some anti-fever properties so I'm taking that right now. Dunno if it's making a difference or not but the fever is coming down so maybe it is.

Good. *hugs* I know I'm nagging, I just want you to be as healthy as you can as quickly as you can.

Just my opinion, but if you're hallucinating there's no way you should be at work! I don't care if work are arsy about it; you've seen a nurse, she knows you're hallucinating and has threatened an IV drip, any HR person with that information who thinks you should be at work needs their mental health testing!

Do as the nurse says: avoid caffeine and try and drink lots and lots of beautiful water; and do as Beck says: take it easy, don't put in too much computer time, get some rest and eat some breakfast;)*bg*

Sending you **big hugs** and a fluffy blanket:)

well, they say 'feed a cold, starve a fever' so maybe I shouldn't be eating at all...

*g*

Just joking - I'm being good. I ate cereal this morning and I have a Froties breakfast bar (that I in no way bought for the Star Wars freebie in the box, honest) with me in case I get hungry before lunch.

My boss is being pretty good about it all right now, she's said if I feeel myself not able to do anything then I have to tell her straight away. She also said if I hallucinate any more bugs she's not coming anywhere near me since she's terrified of insects - real or imaginary!

Well just eat as you feel like it, I promise I won't nag:), but keep on with the drinking.

Me I never buy stuff to get the freebies....oh no.....well, not unless I really need the freebie!*g*

*g* all that talk of breakfast made me hungry. Now I have Frosites (as opposed to Froties) stuck in my teeth...

That sounds horrible, I hope you get better soon. Hallucinating about giant bugs sounds terrible :(

The flat millipede three foot across was the worst of the lot of them I think. They're kinda fading into the backgroundn now and all I'm getting are flickers on the edge of vision but even that's bad enough!

Looks like I'm on the mend though!

I don't think there are words to describe how much I would be freaking out if I was in your position. I have a fear of creepy crawlies and seize up whenever I see a spider.
