Oh don't apologise - although I very nearly was in tears there for a second when I saw your reply (And I swore at poor Aziz the tech support guy... sorry Aziz!)

Effects... has been hacked and there's a malicious script been added which is screwing with the database where all the admin stuff is. I've got the tech support people burning the malicious script right now, I've changed every admin password, and they're uploading a copy of the database within the next half hour.

Hopefully nothing will have been lost although I will be advising every single registered author to change their passwords once it's back up and running again.

Plus, I may have to take FX down for a while until this all gets sorted.

I wish I knew something techie. I just don't get why anyone would hack a fanfiction shipper site. It makes no sense.

I'm tearing apart my coding for FX to see where the weak spot is - I honestly don't get why they wanted to hack it. The only thing I can think was they didn't care what the content was, they just saw a weak point and used it to host some script or other. I'm not sure what the script was but it was definitely malicious.

The tech support supervisor I spoke to (after I swore at poor Aziz) was really helpful and gave me some tips to make it more secure, but that's not much help if I can't rescue the data.

The really irritating thing is that I can see all the content through the host's admin pages but I just can't get it to show up on INAP yet...

It makes zero sense to me, but it looks as though it's fixable. It may take a couple of days, but I think it'll be okay in the end.

I do plan to answer Willow in ITD by the way - it just kind of got put right at the bottom of the list of things I plan to do tonight.

I'm just impressed I managed to get through that entire scene without messing up on the eye front - I caught myself typing eyes several times but I think I managed to not put the extraneous s in there.

What a shithead, why would someone do that. I hope you get it fixed soon :)
