It was really annoying - the guy said "could you raise your hands and keep them raised so we can get to you" - I was one of the first people to raise my hand but because I was halfway up the auditorium they took some questions from the front first and I got ignored. The guy with the microphone was standing next to my row ready to give me the mike when he got waved away and up to the back by the man in charge. Grrr.

All the more incentive for me to meet Joss again someday. I've had my problems with him in the past, with some of the decisions he's made on the shows I love (yeah, I know they're his shows and it's up to him but some of the (especially season seven) material rankled) but hearing him speak today, in conversation format, just reminded me why I admired him so much in the past - and do again now. :)

That blows! I am so sorry you got shafted that way!

Don't get me started on my issues with Joss! But hey, he did create BTVS.

Question for you about Serenity ... I don't want specifics just ... do we find out who Book really is?

Hey, the end of OMWF my be cheesy by I got to sit beside Joss to watch it!
Yep, that's right, he sat on the stairs right beside me (who was sitting right in front of him the whole show- thanks to my friend Melissa who was top of the queue!)!!!! Yeah, ten the brought down a bouncer in case I should attack him (did like S7 either:-) ) but I sat beside Joss to watch a bit of Buffy. How cool is that!

Still on a ridiculous high but one point I really was happy with was Joss admitting that he did get a bit cocky a while back. I think I mentioned before some ofthe things I had read smacked of arrogance so it is nice he recognises that he may have salted his own game in that way.
Oh and what about the tension between Joss and Shane (the EIFF guy!) Definitely don't think he is on Joss's christmas card list.


Oh one final point, I sat beside Joss to watch Buffy!

I was really glad to see him talk about needing to be reigned in a while back - 'Robot Arms!' heh! - that almost made up for all the bad things he made me think about him in season seven!

Awww - sorry you couldn't make it! Sharon took lots of little notes though, so you'll be able to read some of what happened - and I'm sure there'll be other summaries of it popping up soon.

Ooohhh, suppose I'll have to friend englesteorra then. *grins* And I wouldn't have minded not going, if I'd actually been working last night but because things got shifted round and I ended up not working it meant I was sitting round doing nothing except thinking I could have been at the talk.

Okay, enough ranting, it's done with now and there's nothing that can be done, I'm sure I'll have an opportunity to go to something similar in the future, and I did get to go to the Premiere.

This week so far has been so much fun! Tiring as anything, but really fun! One last screenign of the film tonight and then that's me back to the mundane world of no Serenity 'till October.

And I'll just have to save up the question for the next time I get a chance to meet him and ask him - and I will get that chance again. *g*

(btw, in answer to your offer to host the re-write of TL&L at the new site? Squeee! That would just be the perfect launch present!)

Imagine, Firefly gets HUGE ... and the next 2 movies rule the world.

Joss buys a ranch (Browncoats Ranch or something like it), grows a beard and kinda disappears for 20 years ... and then Firefly prequels (Mal as an annoying little kid, beginning of the War and end of the War) ... Not so good as the originals, but with mind blowing FX (that's special effects, not Faith & Xander :)). And he doesn't talk to a normal human ever again!

Heh! At one point during the talk yesterday Joss mentioned the fact that people (writers and directors) need to recognise boundaries or they end up with Jar Jar Binks. He then went on to say that he was a great admirer of Lucas and wasn't saying anything he wouldn't say to the man himself - it was really funny!

And hey, I could always set up camp outside Browncoat Ranch, maybe buy some property nearby... *grin*

Now I'm trying to imagine how a Jar Jar character would sound if he was written by Joss!
