Flipping library! Why are all the Raymond Chandler books in Crichton? Why?! Dammit.

*sigh*

I just wanted a quick look at the writing style because I haven't read any of his work for years, figured 'I work in a library, we're bound to have something...' 6 entries on the catalogue and five of them are in Dumfries. Bloody Crichton campaus. (and the other one's on loan till October)

*sigh*

Oh - and I just have to say this... "I'm mellllltttiiiiinnnngggg!" It shouldn't be this hot, it's Scotland dammit - we don't do well in the heat.

It's not really sunny though, just warm and humid and yucky.

:(

Also, Shona, in regards to the new WKA comm, you can't nominate more than a fic for a category right? Is that okay since the objective is to keep "track" of worthy fics?

Because for instance, I want to nominate something today, for instance for best shippy story, what happens if two weeks from now I find something that's just as good?

Now, for the old WKA site it's easy, I weight the fics at the time of making the nominations, but how about a comm where one might make nominations every week?

You can nominate as many fics, authors and sites as you like for each category - so if, for example, you have three Xander in Africa fics you like, all of them can be nominated. When it comes time for voting, all the nominations in a category will be pre-screened to ensure no author has more than one entry per category and (if the numbers per category get too high) the quality is high enough.

Does that make sense?

Yup, loads of sense. :)
