I managed to 'pop up' most of the dent on the bonnet so it's not going to be as huge a repair job as it might have been - which means I might not have to make a claim at all.

You mean your insurance counts a random vandalism against your no claims bonus?

Mine doesn't - anything for which you are not at fault doesn't count against you.

If they find the people who did it then it'll be their responsibility so I wouldn't lose out that way. Thing is though, the chances of them finding (and convicting) whoever it is are pretty slim. (Even with the near-perfect footprints on the bonnet...)

My neighbour saw some of the local kids hellraising on Friday but not last night. He heard them though and figures it was the same crowd but... I've spread the word around town and we might be able to track down who it was - it's a small village, someone must have seen something.

Grrr... Aarrggh! Stupid people. Sadly, one of those things it's very hard to do anything about, or to prevent.

Friday night they (or possibly someone else) dragged a whole load of wheelie bins out of people's gardens (including mine) and left them in the middle of the road. Then this happens as well... I'm not sure if it was Saturday or Sunday night - I didn't use the car at all on Sunday so it could have been like that all day without me noticing it (the slashed tyre was on the far side which I can't see from the house).

Gah!

Not much hope to catching the perps I guess although it sounds as if they are causing mayhem through the whole village, they must get spotted sooner or later.

Sucks doesn't it? There's a possibility we might find out who it is through 'unofficial' means, but what that'll accomplish is anyone's guess...

Those little shits! Sorry to hear that Sho. And you just know that even if they do get caught their parents are gonna be neck deep if denial or won't give a flying rats.
