It may be time to reassess my meds. Either my depression's getting worse or my meds aren't so effective any more. Can one build up a tolerance to SSRIs? I guess you can, you can build up a tolerance to every other kind of medication so...

Yeah. Not doing so good, slightly PMSing as well which is always fun, and feeling like nothing I do is any good.

But still - Steve in less than a week now! And the Scottish Fen Posse Party (I can't believe I'm using the word Posse in relation to me again. I haven't done that since I left secondary school...) on Friday.

(antibiotics are finished and made me all better, except for the fact that I'm now feverish from something else. Or maybe it's still the same thing but the pain's gone. I dunno.)

Will be back on form soon, I hope.

ETAMy horoscope for today. As provided by the Metro newspaper:

It's not like you to rebel, but you're furious about restrictions imposed on you at work. You feel like doing something rash. Something you'd live to regret. You won't, of course - far too sensible - but oooh, the thought is nice.

Can it be Steve!Day now?
aditu_az[personal profile] aditu_az on July 17th, 2007 06:28 pm (UTC)
no no, i need to decide what to wear. and buy new sandals. and finish getting rid of this cold. and things. then it can be Steve!day forever.... forever and ever... and never end.... and when he gets tired of singing and drinking and posing for photos he can sleep on me, and then sing some more... eternal Steve!day.... oh that is a nice idea.

I hope you can find a way to feel better.

I know it can be hard, my bro suffers of depression. Now he's good, but I have seen him in very bad conditions.

Btw enjoy Steve :)))

I've been on these meds for about a year now, and they've been workign fine for me up until quite recently. I've been getting into deeper and deeper funks and finding it tougher to come out of them now. It might just be time for a change, or maybe it's since I stopped counseling. It'll work out in the end, I'm sure, it's just at times like this seeing the light at the end of the tunnel - it's hard not to see it as an oncoming train.

I always wanted to be in a posse... (don't judge me ;)).

If you're still feverish you need to go back to the doc and check there's nothing still lingering around babe - not sick for steve, ya know?

Okay, other stuff - If you're PMSing that'll go pretty soon (thank god, evil time) and if you're still ill then that'll have an effect too. If you're still lacking balance after that then it's probably time for the evil dr again? For the record, your stuff is great and I hope some day soon you can believe that too.

I just checked my Friends Reunited profile page and there's a message there from someone I was at school with that says "Funky Crew!". So not only was I part of a Posse, I was also part of a funky crew... I hate the 80s.

I'm waiting on the last set of results to come through from the Doctor's but they're not in yet. The fever thing is annoying me now because it's the only sign that something's wrong, but with it being fever, then something's *clearly* wrong.

From what I know, it would be a good idea to talk to your doctor and reassess your medication. Changes in your internal chemistry might well be affecting the way your meds do or don't work. Maybe you being so sick has had an impact. I don't know, but I do think talking to your doctor would be a good idea.

I'm waiting to hear back on the test results I had done in the middle of the week last week so I might end up having to go in and see her anyway. I was actually thinking earlier this month that it might be a good time to reduce my dosage, but I don't think that's a great plan right now.
[identity profile] velvetwhip.livejournal.com on July 17th, 2007 03:54 pm (UTC)
No, it does not sound like reducing your dosage is in the offing.

It might be the antibiotics still playing about in my system actually - they're bound to have some kind of effect on anything else I'm taking so...
[identity profile] acrazywench.livejournal.com on July 17th, 2007 04:11 pm (UTC)
Hun, I think you're speaking a-right. Extra stuff sloshing around in your system will have taken your usual stuff by surprise so it's probably sitting grumpily in a corner somewhere grumbling about not being kept informed.

Look after yourself matey x
[identity profile] whiskyinmind.livejournal.com on July 18th, 2007 08:06 am (UTC)
plus all that alcohol's bound to have an effect...

(I'm feeling better today, after having forgotten to take my SSRIs this morning. Huh... there's not a link, there's no way it would have gotten out of my system this quickly - it'll be another twelve hours before I really notice it)

*squee* STEVE!!

When are you getting into London? Where are we meeting? Are you prepared for the insanity that is all the Asylum Alum?
[identity profile] thedothatgirl.livejournal.com on July 17th, 2007 06:03 pm (UTC)
I don't think I've ever been in a posse unless it was that time me and the boy's had to round up 'crookd jed' for rustling cattle....

Methinks you're body is a might confused. If the antibiotics course is finished perhaps the fever is the last malingerer from the infection.

Got to get yourself well for Steve. *gentle hug*

*grins*

For some reason I hear Jayne saying that first line in my head...

I think you may be right there, too many things going on at once and my body's just shutting down on me. Of course, if my damn results would come in to the surgery then maybe I could find out... *grrs at village practice...*

STEEEVE!!!
[identity profile] physicsteach.livejournal.com on July 17th, 2007 07:10 pm (UTC)
Yes, meds can very definitely stop being effective - it happened to me this past winter; my Lexapro stopped working fairly abruptly and its taken a while to get back to something like normal.
[identity profile] whiskyinmind.livejournal.com on July 18th, 2007 08:09 am (UTC)
Was it quite a quick change then? When your meds stopped being effective? I kinda thought that when/if it happened it would be a gradual thing but it seems to have happened within a week or so
[identity profile] physicsteach.livejournal.com on July 18th, 2007 02:38 pm (UTC)
For me, it was fairly abrupt. I was OK over the Christmas/New Year holidays, but right after I went it to a pretty extreme depression.

I'd say it was maybe over the course of a week that I realized that I was in serious trouble.
[identity profile] smeckles90.livejournal.com on July 17th, 2007 08:36 pm (UTC)
*huggles you*

I don't think I've ever used the word posse in relation to me before in my life! I was a deprived child *sniffs*

I'm a sucker for horoscopes. I always see something in them that totally applies to me and this one seems awfully specific to you - they must be real!
[identity profile] whiskyinmind.livejournal.com on July 18th, 2007 08:10 am (UTC)
I'm just such a child of the 80s... first the posse and then the 'funky crew'. I may never be able to show my face in respectable company again...

*grins*

It was Monkey who found the horoscope and showed it to me - it's scarily apt (apart from the 'it's not like you to rebel'. Since when? *g*)
[identity profile] angelnetgirl.livejournal.com on July 17th, 2007 09:34 pm (UTC)
Hun *hugs* sorry your not at your best again. I hope things improve for you soon, cant be fun having PMs and not feeling well on top of everything, I think a trip to the doctors may be required.

Thankfully you have Steve and our Scottish Fen Posse Party to look forward to. Posse I dont think was ever a word I used in relation to me or any friends prior to Supernatural, we obviously werent that cool :)

Your horoscope, the thought is always nice :) I have those thoughts EVERY Day!
[identity profile] whiskyinmind.livejournal.com on July 18th, 2007 08:13 am (UTC)
I'm hoping this is just a little glitch so that I can be bouncy all next week (well, from Friday on!)

Been meaning to ask you - breakfast type things, what would you like for the Wednesday? (and I apologise in advance for the extreme loudness of my car's engine... poor Nicky's not feeling too well these days. (yes, my car's called Nicky, wanna make something of it? *g*))
[identity profile] angelnetgirl.livejournal.com on July 18th, 2007 07:01 pm (UTC)
I am sure we will help you to be bouncy and hey when you have Steve to look forward to, TWICE that will help.

Breakfast, as long as theres bread for toast or some form of ceral, I noramally have weetabix, generally if theres something to drink I am good :)

Nicky is a very cool name for a car, our names usually arent as nice and involve swearing, I travel by knackered bus every day so I am sure I wont notice your poor cars engine!
