Websites news

So... there's a problem with the websites. Apparently one of my host's databases has been infiltrated and as such my password's been reset. Fine, not a problem, expcept for the fact that I now can't log in to the FTP site. So this is a head's up. I can't updare the websites at the moment, I'm trying to get it fixed asap, but my time online's limited as you know.

I'm not a happy bunny right now.

(any of the rest of you with DreamHost having similar issues? I know [livejournal.com profile] dragonydreams and [livejournal.com profile] stir_of_echoes had accounts there, are you still with 'em guys? Can you get to either the FTP site or the WebFTP?)

Edit to add

SO it seems as though it's taking its time to register the changes in passwords. It's been... about two hours I think? And it's now recognising me, so guys, if you're having this problem just give it time.

I have Dreamhost and I haven't had any problems with connecting (yet or that I am aware of). Sorry to hear that you're having this issue.

Err scratch that, I just checked. I am trying to see what happens when I reset the password. (The last time I logged in was Thursday.)

It seems to be taking a while for the change to take affect. I wonder if it's just because everyone's having to reset their passwords?

I think you're onto something there - it took about two hours, but it seems to be working now!

I just tried logging in to my FTP and wasn't able to either. When I logged into my account at Dreamhost this message displayed:

Due to some unauthorized activity we detected within one of our databases, we have forced a reset of all FTP/SFTP and shell passwords as a precaution.

If you're having trouble logging into your FTP or shell accounts, please visit the "Users > Manage Users" tab and update your passwords there.

Thanks for the head's up. I was planning on updating the Willowy Goodness Awards today. Now I need to try updating my password first.

Not a problem - it seems to be working for me now, took a couple of hours to register the change but now it's working.

I received the same message today. Just used the web panel and changed the passwords. I've not tried logging in yet through FTP or anything else.
