Decisions decisions
Right, I'm biting the bullet and am going to pay for my webspace from now on. I'm fed up with Geocities drop-downs and pop-ups so I'm going to have my own little space which is all mine. Yay!

So I'm stuck on a name for it right now. I don't want it limited to Buffy because there's too many Buffy-type names out there at the moment, I'd like it unique and memorable as well so... Here's the ones I've come up with so far - any comments, favourites, suggestions would be very welcomed!

temptation-waits (from the Garbage song of the same name)
tears-in-rain (from BladeRunner and the title of one of my fics)
lost-in-time (also from BladeRunner)
moments-lost (and again from BladeRunner!)

What d'you think then?

I like Moments-Lost, because it's so true, and Temptation-Waits. Moments-Lost is my favorite though.

Go you with your paying for your own site!

*grin* it was only really a matter of time before I ended up doing it to be honest - plus it'll give a bit of oomph to the design company if my sites aren't on a free server.

Right now, moments-lost is my favourite - but that'll probably change by tonight!

I myself like them, but for some reason chaotic sudectruss... comes to mind for me..... that would be more like a sn or un though.... oh well, temptation waits sounds good to me.

Hmm, good name, although it sounds more like a Dru fic archive to me?

What about "Anything-but-Ordinary"? An AL song title.

Quite like that one as well Andy, but the song's a bit whiney and I'd end up singing it in my head the whole time I think.

I hate decisions!

Out of the ones you provided I'd probably go with Tears-In-Rain.

Other possibilities:-

Signs-of-a-Vacant-Soul

A-Thousand-Years

Everybody-got-Their-Something

Jaded

All-The-Dreams

Hope this provides some (non Blade Runneresque) alternatives.

Gotta agree with Andy here.... Tears in Rain... although I do like a few of his suggestions as well. Jaded would be good as it harks to your sn...

Thanks Jackie and Andy! I'm more or less decided now - it's a toss up between moments-lost and tears-in-rain with the first one being just that little bit in the lead right now. I've also done the pricing and hunting for a decent server so now all I have to do is actually do the work and get signed up! Yay!

I like "Tears In Rain".You're a Blade Runner fan? SO AM I!!!!!!!!! Which version do you prefer, the original or the director's cut?

Gabrielle, who's seen things you people wouldn't believe!

I *love* Blade Runner! If I ever did make a list of my favourite films it would be right at the top!

Much prefer the directors cut - I'm so not a fan of the voiceover int he original - how about you?
[identity profile] velvetwhip.livejournal.com on March 26th, 2004 12:08 pm (UTC)
Okay, don't hate me,but I prefer the original! I'm a huge old movie fan,so the voiceover gives the movie a "film noir" quality that I dearly love! And it just adds so much to key scenes for me.Like the rooftop scene where Roy Batty dies. But I do understand why some people prefer the director's cut.I suppose it depends on how you see the movie and what you're looking for from it.

The original would actually stil be in my top ten films to be honest, it's still great and does add that whole noir-ish angle to the film. I guess it might be the fact that I saw the director's cut first and then saw the original as part of my degree - I'm a media graduate - so we had to really analyse it and that experience probably coloured my views of it.

The same as with Don't Look Now - it's a good film, bordering on the great, but as part of my course I had to write a 3000 treatise on a ten minute segment of the film talking mainly about mise-en-scene so that now I can't watch the film anymore without thinking about tunnels and reflections and what they symbolise...

Well of course, given my advanced age,we know that my first viewing of Blade Runner was the original version in the theatre! And that may be part of why I still prefer the original version! It made such a huge impact on me! I am not a huge sci-fi/special effects film fan,but Blade Runner had such a strong STORY and the characters were so fascinating that it just blew me away!
