yeah, this was a good plan
I have a million black v-neck tops. Well, not quite a million, but safe to say I have a hell of a lot of them (mostly because I hate throwing away old clothes - most of the black tops aren't actually black anymore, but they're still whole so why get rid of them?) Anyway - long story short, grabbed one out of the drawer this morning, put it on (along with my black combats - how very SAS of me...) grabbed my jacket and headed out. It's freezing outside, not much warmer in work, so why did I pick up the one black v-neck top with short sleeves?!!!

I'm trying really hard not to put my jacket back on 'cause I 'won't feel the benefit when I go outside' otherwise but it's a close run thing right now! (Plus I forgot I used up all my coffee yesterday so I don't even have any hot drink to warm me up - grrr.)

LOL!!!! Okay, so Monkey's just walked into the office... in a kilt. Is it impolitic of me to have burst out laughing when I saw him? (One of the girls is finishing up today and we're having a night out forher tonight - the dress code was supposed to be 'fabulous'. Quite how that translates into a kilt and a t-shirt from Next I'm not really sure...)

ETA see, Monkey distracted me and I forgot what I was going to say! Lost! Peanut Butter! Joy!

If you're not going outside for a few hours don't worry about the expected benefits of the coat wearing then. Anyhow, when you do go out you'll be moving rather than sitting at a desk, so you'll get a tad warmer that way anyway.

(In my head that makes sense, but if it's not in proper English I can translate:) I'm having difficulty stringing a typed sentence together today - doesn't bode well for any RL conversations!)

Should I worry that it made perfect sense to me?

I managed to 'borrow' a tea bag there, so at least my hands are warm(er) now! And the jacket will probably be going on in about five minutes...

Ok I'm assuming hot water came into contact with the teabag, otherwise what kind of crazy ass nuclear-type tealeaves have you got in Glasgow?

Peanut butter - sounds good to me just so long as it's crunchy. Ok, now I want a star bar! But the shop with star bars is a good 10 -15 mins walk away, I may have to settle for a marathon. (....Ah chocolate - how ever did people survive before you were invented?)

No marathons, so I've gone for a topic. (Is it just me or have topics, like most chocolate bars, shrunk in the last couple of years?)

Bring back the original milky ways, bring back the original boost bars, and Nestle plese sell Rowntree (preferably to the people of York), I've forgotten what mint aeros and toffee crisips taste like.

(I'm having a bit of an ode to chocolate day today - can you tell?!*g*)

Ode to chocolate... sounds good to me!

But, but... I thought the kilt thing was like sacred and nobody would laugh or giggle at the wearing of it, if not for tradition then for fear of getting a log thrown at them. What gives?

Or are you some kind of sassenach? :)

And I feel for you, I don't really like the cold. Hope you manage to borrow more hot beverages.

ME! A SASSENACH?!!! Take that back!

*g*

Kilts are fine - in their place, which is not on Monkey. Especially not at work... *g*

I shouldn't be mean to him actually, it's his tea I'm 'borrowing' right now!

Just calling him Monkey... the guy might feel unappreciated or something. :)
And if not for him who would 'lend' you tea?

And drinking tea... How very english of you! ;)

And if you want to bug me you can imply I'm spanish or something. :)

Heh! It's Scottish Blend tea, made specially for our softer water. You Spaniard you...

*g*

ME! A SASSENACH?!!!

Well, technically, you are. So am I.

It was originally used by Highlanders in reference to Lowlanders, rather than it's modern meaning of somebody English.
[identity profile] whiskyinmind.livejournal.com on October 15th, 2005 02:40 am (UTC)
Technically, no I'm not. Neither am I a Chuchter. You're a Sassenach. I'm Lallands.

Maybe Monkey thinks he has "fabulous" legs?
