John Locke...
John Locke has to die. Arrogant, self-important, prick. I don't think I've ever actively hated a character on a TV show as much as I hate John Locke right now.

I am a Charlie fan, I am also a fan of Charlie and Claire together but right now I'm happier to see them apart to be honest. Couple of weeks ago I said that I would happily slap Charlie for his behaviour, and yes he is still being a bit of an arse, but Oh. My. God. John Locke has to die for the supercilious way he is treating everyone - especially Charlie. I never liked Locke, I developed an appreciation for his character after Walkabout, but I never liked him. Now? Gah!

What was the deal with putting the statues in the lock-up? If he's looking out for the best interests of everyone on the island then surely the best thing to do would be to destroy them and their contents. But oh no, self-important, holier-than-thou has to put them aside for later. He so has a plan for them - and in my mind it's an evil plan - gah!

Of course, now I want to go back to Off Course and pick up where I left off so that I can kill off Locke - or at least have Xander make a sarcastic comment that goes over his head!

Hi there. Ran across this post on my friendsfriends page and was struck by your icon. I see that it's snaggable, but I wanted to let you know that I was taking it (and will credit, of course). It's lovely work. I knew I wanted an icon of that moment as soon as I saw the image.

Thanks!

Ji! *waves*

Absolutely! I was exactly the same, the moment I saw that shot I knew I had to icon it!

Take - enjoy!

I think my main comment for the entirety of this episode (well, other than "oh yeah, that's subtle. . ." was along the lines of the fact that they're on an island. There are no drug laws. In fact, there isn't any law or government to speak of, just a bunch of blow-hards who've decided they're the leaders. Michael grabbed a gun, locked people up, and went dashing into the forest, and as we were shown, they had no real way of stopping him from doin' what he wanted.

If Locke was all like, let Michael do what he has to do, why can't he be all like, hey, I guess if Charlie really wants to do heroin, he can probably make that decision himself?

And don't get me started on all the supposed dream imagery. . . .

Heh! Yeah, i have serious *issues* with a lot of the programme - mostly based around dogma it has to be said - but absolutely! One rule for one and all that - the moment everyone turned their backs on Charlie in the surf I just gnnnhd! (And how much was I hoping either Charlie would take a swing at Locke or that someone else would do it for him?!)

So what do you think, is Aaron in need of saving because Locke's getting closer to him and Charlie in his poor-Catholic-kid brought-up mind has interpreted it wrong? I'm gunning for the Locke theory myself. That *he* is the thing that Aaron needs protecting from!

Locke, the "Others", the entire frickin' world. . . . I think I need to have seen a bit more of this season to form a really coherent theory, but, dude, the kid's an infant. What doesn't he need protection from?

I have to say that in my mind, Charlie actually came out stronger than anyone else in this episode. Yes, now he's ostracised, but he did (and it seems will continue to do)what he genuinly thought was the right thing to do.

Maybe that's just me automatically siding with him, but he seemed to - morally speaking - come out on top here. :)

I haven't seen any S2 Lost. Am I missing anything?

To be honest, up until this episode I was watching it mostly out of habit, the first few episodes of the season were just repeating the same story from soooo many different viewpoints that I got incredibly bored by it. This episode? (And the last actually) have me hooked again. It's definitely worth labouring through the first few!

OMG. You probably shouldn't have given me reason to get going again . . . Aric's reminded me at least ten times that it's just a tv show. Like I care.

I was livid before the end of Lost on Wednesday. For all the reasons you mentioned above, plus some.

Just consider this:

Ana Lucia kills Shannon, ties Sayid to a tree, and has no real (visible) remorse for doing either one. She gets tequila and a fish. Not to mention that even the dog likes her.

Locke has a vision (has a vision) that leads him to the plane, and he inadvertently kills Boone all to get inside the hatch of eternal boredom. He gets to be in charge of the guns.

Kate lies. Lies. Lies. Was on the plane in handcuffs. Everyone loves her.

Sawyer is a complete and utter bastard to everyone. Still, everyone loves him.

Charlie? Has a drug problem. Had some freaky dreams/visions. Kinda freaked out. Now everyone hates him.

WTF?

I Know! It makes zero sense! I also have severe issues with the religious dogma spouted in the episode but I'm allowing that to pass because that's either going to be a personal thing to me or there will be repercussions on the show. (Although, seriously, the PTA thought Caleb asking what would have happened if they served white wine instead of red was bad enough - wait till they get their hands on the image of Claire as Mary... *rubs hands in vindictive glee*)

Every single one of them is hiding something - every one. The only one being called on it is Charlie? Oh - and of course there was Jin in s1 with the whole handcuff thing, 'cause lets all pick on the guy who doesn't speak English and can't defend himself here! Gah! Puh-lease!

Locke is so evil. Or if JJ chickens out and makes it seem like he was on everyone's side? I'm going to make it my own personal fanon that Locke is evil. *g*
