I got the damn scene done!  
Finally... plus, it took me to over the 10,000 mark. Still possible to get the rest of the word count done by the 30th, but right now I'm just happy to have the never-ending scene done!

'scuse me while I fall asleep at my desk.

Yay! Look forward to seeing it all!

Important thing is not to give up even if you don't make the planned word count. The November timetable is there to encourage you to get going, not to be your master.

I'm so deeply immersed in this story right now that I don't see me giving up on it until it's spun out. 'Course, after NaNo's done (and I've gotten to the end of the story) I'll be going back through it and sorting out all those bits where I've used three words instead of one. My current favourite is "a shiver ran down her spine" - so much better for the word count than "she shivered".
