Spoil me and I will end you.

I am a spoilerphobe, I don't want to know what's coming before I get to see it on the screen. As a media graduate it's hard enough to find a show I can enjoy without tearing it to shreds on a technical level and when I do manage to find that, I really don't want the suspense and the anticipation ruined by knowing what's coming.

For the entire second half of season two I had my friends list on here filtered right down to not include communities so that I could get to the finale without knowing anything. I had hoped that I could go back to my full flist now it's the summer but alas it seems that I may have to cut some communities completely because the spoilers are already starting.

So, a public service announcement. If you are an individual on my friends list who is likely to post spoilers, please comment here. If you would rather stay on my friends list please think about posting anything spoilery behind a cut so that those of us (like me) who don't want to know, don't stumble across it without warning.

I'm not doing this to be mean, I don't want to lose any friends over this, but I just don't want to be told what's coming. Guessing, speculation, that's all fine - hell, it's half the fun. But concrete facts? Not for me thanks.

I'm the same - episode titles can be cryptic sometimes, but more often than not they give a pretty clear idea of what's to be expected.

Somebody on my flist posted some cut spoilers. Outside the cut was a completely unrelated comment about a film I love.

I commented on the film bit, with a huge 'NOT LOOKING AT SPOILERS' in upper case.

Somebody else (not the person on my flist) replied to that comment with enough spoilers to give away the entire episode.

And never even bothered apologising.

I normally hate spoilers but I read them every now and then and then try repress what I read, so you probably won't see me talking spoilers, even if I know them I like to pretend I don't :P

It's not happened *yet* (although some people are talking about their reaction to the spoilers in such a way that a semi-intelligent person could guess what the spoilers are) but it definitely happened during both seasons one and two.

I guess this is my version of a pre-emptive strike as it were!

Like I said somewhere else here, they haven't started filming yet. Until it's in the can it's speculation as far as I'm concerned, but since these have been so wide-spread in the communities I'm guessing there's some kind of official source behind them.

I'm not checking, because I'll get entrenched in it and I'll end up knowing things I don't want to.

hehe, I'm very relaxed about this and also thinking that I won't judge or react to it until I've seen the final cut. And I trust Kripke with pretty much whatever he chooses to do so I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

No I don't post spoilers. I just make very, very vague posts (if at all) like my latest and the spoilery things are possibly in the comments and as long as you don't read them you'll be fine.

Honestly, in your post you made a reference to something that could lead people to working out what you're referring to. That's completely your perogative of course - it's your journal after all, and you aren't posting a spoiler as such.

I'm choosing to see what I've concluded from reading your post as speculation rather than fact (and yup, I'm not reading the comments just in case!) so that's fine.

(You aren't the reason I posted this by the way, wenchpixie commented on my previous post and the comments made me think it was about time I posted something to clarify things before anything was said that caused bad feelings.)

But only if they have an idea at least what it's about, right? I mean I think if you have NO idea at all, I could be hinting at anything. Technically even that Sam's an alien from Mars. :-)

So if you (not you as you but anyone :-) ) can work out what I'm about I guess that means you have at least read spoilers somewhere else before...

I post spoilers, but since on my flist there are people who don't want to be spoiled, I post them under a cut and with a warning in the subject.

Oh just to let you know, during the season I consider spoilers for esch episode until Friday, when we can see it even in Europe..btw I mostly use cuts even in this case.

Awesome - thanks for being so considerate! With the Friday cut off date - that works for me! I tend to still post things under a cut after that because I have a few friends who are only watching it at the UK broadcast rate, but I don't expect any one else to do the same! (Plus, I tend to not read my flist on a Friday until I've actually seen the episode so there's no worries there!)

I'm composing a similar, although probably slightly more hardline, post at the moment :). I've gotten to the stage now that I'm less bothered about offending people than I am about being spoiled, because I'm pretty sure that the people I offend will be in line for a mild sporking ANYWAY.

Coming up in Supernatural season 3... addkrueakei#@!$!%!#$!%$%***** and **134#!#$T@. Oh! **31348**^^&#*@! And that's all I have to say about that.

That's like the person who posted a vid titled something like a tribute to those who didn't make it, then said it contains spoiler and had the cut, but outside the cut in the header info telling the title and such they had a list of characters the vid focused on that didn't live through the season finale. So much for the spoiler cut... Luckily, it didn't spoil me and hopefully they got my message and fixed it before some other poor person was.

I think I've done two images that could have had potential spoilers in there... and that was only if you had a vivid imagintation on the first one, but always with the spoiler space. :-)

I'm not an "avoid spoilers at all costs" person, I try to, but if I accidently see something I don't get to upset by it. Although, if you frequent imdb, be cautious cause I got spoiled there for an episode that wasn't going to air for two weeks but they had a summary up on the list of episodes as I was going to the one that had just aired. It was one of those times where your eyes read it before your brain told them to stop.

I got spoiled for the end of The Gift by a gossip magazine in the UK called Heat. They picked it as their 'one to watch' TV show and had a picture of the gravestone next to it. Gee, ta!

I'm so glad I have no idea what comm you're on about, I've read one spoiler so far (accidentally!) and I'm so annoyed about it it's not funny.

I don't watch at itv2 rate, I normally get to watch between 1-3 days after it's aired in the US, so if I post about it after, I still put Spoiler in the cut line or something just in case someone hasn't seen it, so you'll be fine with me :D

& if anyone else starts spoiling me, they'll be sporked to within an inch of their life. This is the one show that I avoid spoilers like the plague for, & as it is I still read something before the finale that could have ruined it all, but luckily it was only half true.

By the way, what do you want to do about that project we were talking about at the end of last week? I had some ideas about a name, but right now I'm braindead from work & can't remember exactly what it was :S

I'm off out in a bit anyway, but I'll be online after that :)

I am maintaining my spoiler free status from early last season, its amazing that there are spoilers rife so early on.

I cant read so many posts its scary, if it even alludes to a spoiler I aint touching it so you will be safe with me, unless they break me but I have learnt I enjoy an episode so much more when I dont know whats coming and dont a pre-conceived idea of it :)
