Help!!!
I'm becoming addicted to Facebook - this is wrong and evil and just... no! Help!!!

[livejournal.com profile] hopeless_cynic - when are you coming to Scotland? Is it tomorrow? (please tell me it's tomorrow... the spare room is still full of stuff...) And also I should really try to borrow Sis's car and actually have some food in the house for when you get here!

My arm feels better being strapped up, although I was back to see the nurse this morning to check the strapping and she was manipulating my arm in ways that really, really hurt. Ibuprofen is a wonderful thing!

Right, I need to go, get some writing done I think. I'm already late(ish) with two ficathon fics which is bugging me a lot right now, but I can't seem to get them started. Ah well (opens up Word and stares at the blank screen)

How come when I say I'm going offline, I feel like I'm lying? lol.

Facebook is addictive. I've logged out though, I'll go back on it tonight.

I'm up from the 8th 'til the 15th, so not 'til Tuesday. Can't remember the times though, I'll text you them once I find the tickets. Shit. Can't remember where they are. Oh fuck. Ok, I'm pretty sure I know where they are. I'll find them.

Anyway, don't worry about the tidying and getting food thing, you can only use one arm so I can do it when I get to yours!

*grins* you could be my slave for a while! I had it in my head it was the 5th to the 18th - I got my numbers swapped. Excellent, I can hide the evidence mess before Tuesday - cool! I'm back at work on the 14th, so I may have to leave you with a spare key and the numbers for Wench, Karyn and Smeckles for the last two days of your stay!

If I was still at Uni I would do a study on sites like FaceBook (and older ones like Quizilla and the like) - there's nothing there, there's no content, and yet I can't quite navigate away from it... there must be some psychological reason for that. :) (I'm logged out now, and am trying not to up my rating on the Doctor Who and Pushing Daisies quizzes - I think I'm doing pretty damn well on the Supernatural one so far... *g*)

lmao, I will be your slave if you keep the damn sling on lol.

Aww, sucks about you going back to work, I'm sure I'll be alright!

Don't tempt me, if I could figure a way to do a study like that, I probably would. I might look into using something like that in my 3rd year for my Independent Study, but I don't know yet. Not even finished my 1st year yet lol.

I've not concentrated enough to get my scores up on Supernatural or Doctor Who for a while, I always get distracted and go onto another open tab or something! I might do some later, anyway. I've never seen Pushing Daisies, is it any good?

Hrm... that's only because you've not been playing scrabulous with my parents, I find it turns you agin the site very, very fast. Harumph.

Glad to hear it about the arm - KEEP THE DAMN SLING ON
X-P"""

They're not late until monday, and I promise I was a great deal later than that with one of mine last year (and am likely to be with my other one this year. 200 words was possibly cheating on the first one...)

*grins*

Scrabulous you say?

um... the sling may still be in the bathroom from when I had to take it off to shower this morning. *ducks*

I'm less pushed for time now, with L not arriving till Tuesday and it being the weekend. Excellent, I should have *something* ready by Monday at the very latest. Which, since it's a chrimble challenge, is a but ridiculous really!

PUT YER SLING ON WOMAN *POKES*

*snorts* yeah, I get that feeling; and it's the more Christmassy of the two prompts I've got left, too, but... Ahh well. Stressing about it doesn't help the words come, right?

I'll invite you to a game... Did you friend the boy yet btw? To ask him the thing about the thing?

Facebook eh? i have been told i should get one myself and a Bebo page but i resist.. for now
[identity profile] whiskyinmind.livejournal.com on January 4th, 2008 03:06 pm (UTC)
I've had a Facebook account for about a year now, and I was scared of it for a long time, but now I'm kinda hooked. I swear though - if you get one? Say goodbye to hours at a time. I spent a good... three hours yesterday just playing the Supernatural trivia quiz. I could have read a few hundred pages of War & Peace in that time...

I don't have a BeBo account - not really been all that tempted by it to be honest, but chances are I'll have one before the month is out!

I am a Facebook neophyte, and don't know how to find people to friend. Is it pitiable if I ask you to friend me? I only have like five friends, and most are ones I found through my daughter's list.
[identity profile] whiskyinmind.livejournal.com on January 4th, 2008 04:17 pm (UTC)
Not pitiable at all!! I have something like 10 friends on there, all of whom found me because I suck at the site so far, in fact I have absolutely no idea how to link to my profile on there - I'm listed under Shona Russell and the user picture is the same one I'm using here. :)
[identity profile] lwbush.livejournal.com on January 4th, 2008 04:26 pm (UTC)
Huh - there are like six people with your name on Facebook - good thing you included the picture!

Friend request sent.

And accepted! There must be a simpler way to deal with the site, but I've yet to find it!.
[identity profile] augustfading.livejournal.com on January 4th, 2008 04:30 pm (UTC)
I hear all about facebook, but never took the leap. I don't think I need one more thing to be addicted too :)
Take care of yourself, I hope your arm feels better soon.
[identity profile] whiskyinmind.livejournal.com on January 4th, 2008 04:32 pm (UTC)
It really is eating away at my spare time - I lost most of yesterday playing trivia quizzes on ther!

anti-inflammatories and strapping seems to be working pretty well. Apparently I've torn the muscle and need to support it and keep moving it at the same time. Which is not at all contradictory in the least... *g*
[identity profile] augustfading.livejournal.com on January 4th, 2008 05:03 pm (UTC)
support it and keep moving it at the same time
Sometimes I don't know how they become doctors, I really don't! I'd say just rest it for a while, then slowly start trying to move it again. There is no way you can do both, not with out a whole lot of unnecessary pain.

I think I will continue to avoid facebook. It just sounds like a bad, bad idea, lol.

I am glad your arm feels a bit better.
