Right, so I'm in a 'screw you' world day today. Not having any money at all for food (and no, I'm not exaggerating - I have no income at all thank you very much GUL for screwing me over one final time and getting the Benefits Agency to suspend my JSA) has left me searching through the house for anything that might be around. I haven't yet gotten to the stage of eating the Xander chocolate bar that I bought in Hamleys in London on the way to my first ever convention (Senior Partners - 2001 was it? 2002? Whatever it was, the chocolate will definitely be out of date...) but what I did find was a box of hair dye. Since I can't eat it I thought - hey, maybe I could use it!

Only thing is, it's from the stage I went through of being a red head. Which is a stage that most of my SPN friends don't actually know at all, since I've been becoming more blonde in that period I've known them (although for the last year it's been all natural baby...)

So, the big question. Should I use the dye? Should I be a red head again?

I'm trying to keep myself busy (so as not to think about how hungry I am) and am having so much fun with judging fics and vids and things! (Also? am working on something which I am determined to finish this year. So that's a fortnight to finish it. Doable. Since I've got nothing better to do with my time! (And yes, I'm being deliberately vague but I may be asking for advice from thedothatgirl in the near future...)

Right, I'm now going to start downloading the 'series' entries for the Salt & Burn Awards so that I can start judging those as well.

And apply for a crisis loan from the social fund so that I don't end up spending the holiday period in hospital with malnutrition.

So yesterday I went and spent some time at my sister's house, my eldest nephew's not well right now so he was off school, talked a little, hashed out some things, went home to my own house and went to bed. It was about 7pm or something, I know it was early. I didn't sleep very well, I didn't write anything, I ended up reading a couple of Pratchett books that I know inside and out, and I feel... not so down. Not better or anything, but not so down.

So that's good.

I have to head into the next town in an hour to sign on and I forgot to lift my wallet when I left the house to come to the library so I have to go back home first (which wouldn't be a problem except I have to walk past the train station to get home and then walk back, thereby looking like a prat.) And my mp3 player has finally bitten the dust. I guess it's not so bad given that it was a tenner three or four years ago. But with it gone and my CD player skipping all the time (probably needs the lens cleaned or something) it means I am completely tuneless for most of today (it takes about ten to fifteen minutes to sign on and then fifty minutes to wait for the train home).

I'm starting to get concerned that there's been no nominations at all in either awards site. I know the forms working because I've run a few tests on both of them. Is it worth running them if there's no interest?

Realistically I have nothing really to say right now, I'm just typing this to justify my coming into the library. Oh, and I'm still really behind on my flist - not seen any eps of the shows we all watch yet - so please let me know what's going on in your lives?

I just got notification that my broadband will be discontinued because my phone line has had a "cancellation order (also known as a PSTN cease)" out in it.

So I guess I won't have email at home then either.

I've been trying to email my phone company all day today but with no luck, I'm guessing it's because a direct debit hasn't gone through, but it'd be nice if they'd told me they were going to cut me off before they did it.

Still have my mobile if you need me.

Still ow. Bath helped last night and the painkillers have been helping, but this chair is really making it worse. After being in work for half an hour this morning I could barely move. (plus my neck's starting to hurt because of it which is worrying - I have a long standing issue with my neck (there's an extra piece of bone on one of the prongs of one the vertebrae) and could really do without it coming back!)

I phoned OH - I have an appointment on Monday at 3. As well as everything else I need to talk to them about I'll mention the back troubles.

I also phoned the surveyer to get my house valued - they're coming next Thursday, just at the point when I'll be packing like a lunatic for Serenity: Complete. sorchasilver - we need to arrange a way to find each other there! And I also just discovered that a girl I've been hanging out with is going to be working at the con, and has been working at previous Starfury cons I've been to. Small world, huh?

I have one more scary phone call to make, and I know this sounds like an excuse, but I don't have my reference number with me. I will phone them tomorrow, I swear. (Or if I get home early enough I'll phone tonight.)

Still looking for fic recs by the way, I'm in the mood to read Angel (the series) fic at the moment but since it's not one of my primary fandoms I'm not sure where to start looking. Any help would be good!

Tuesday - 'training' session given by someone who doesn't know what she's talking about
Wednesday - tour of the British Library in Boston Spa (getting there by train, hope to hell my back's better by then!)
Thursday - off work to let the surveyer in and I need to pack

Friday night to Monday morning - SERENITY: COMPLETE!!!!!!
Monday - Megabus back to Glasgow

Ooo - almost forgot! bobbinrob, did you get your confirmation from Sweet Charity yet? I haven't heard anything from the site, but I said to halcyon_shift yesterday that we could contact each other anyway.

I'm in a particularly maudlin mood right now, my health is still not good and I've just slept through another day (and am still so tired I'm about  to go back to bed). I am going to work tomorrow, because I need to speak to real live human beings, but as for anything else I don't think I'm up to doing very much right now.
