Getting too old for this...
There was a time I wouldn't think twice about staying out all night and going to work the next morning. There was a time I wouldn't even have blinked at the thought of walking up the verticality that is Great George Street. There was a time I wouldn't have cared that I spent the best part of two hours last night perched on the edge of a barrier that was only about four inches wide (if that).

That time is long past.

Was at T in the Fringe last night. Franz Ferdinand. Fantastic gig, had an absolute blast. Really didn't want to come into work this morning.

And yeah, by the time I got to the practically vertical hill leading up to the library I went out of my way to walk along less steep hills. Probably ended up walking an extra mile or so, but my thigh muscles are actually thanking me for that right now.

I'm going to try to stick it through an entire day of work (or more accurately, an entire day of sitting in the office scrabbling for something to do) but I have no coffee. And Starbucks, Costa, Tinderbox and all the other random coffee shops are all at the bottom of Great George Street. [livejournal.com profile] engelsteorra? When you come in this afternoon fancy bringing in a grande Americano with at least one extra shot?*g*

If it's not old age then it must be the cold I think I'm getting.

Yep, that must be it.

*says the guy who took the day after the premiere off so that he could recover*

Well I took the whole week off just to recover last week...

And I've got another gig on a 'school night' next week as well - Stereophonics. Really looking forward to that one as well - just hope this 'cold' is gone by then!

(or maybe it's caffeine withdrawal. Huh, that could be it!

Yeah, but you were out nearly every night (if not every night) last week so you deserved to have the week off. It doesn't seem like it's only been just over a week since the premiere, yet it seems ages ago at the same time. Is it October the 7th yet? *g*

Mind you, there's news that there's going to be a second round of pre-screenings in the Uk so we might be fortunate and get a showing in Scotland somewhere.

If you want me to pick you up a coffee, or even a jar of the stuff, on my way in I can.

Just let me know what and where from.

Nah, it's cool. I have Irn Bru now and Janet loaned me some of her Cafe Noir. I'm now caffeinated again.

You're not getting old, Sho. I avoid Great George Street too, I always ended up exhausted at the top of it. The QM has a wee coffee bar in it, don't know if it's open during the summer though.

I'm glad it's not just me! I have in the past made it up there in under a minute but that was around four years ago now...

I don't think I could ever make it up there in a minute, I have to take a wee rest halfway up *g*. Note to self: go back to the gym.

I remember the days when I could go without sleep for 72 hours and be fresh as a daisy. I remember being out all night and thinking nothing of it. And I remember the day when I realized those days were behind me. My heart goes outr to you...it's an aging sort of feeling, isn't it?
