I know I've not been commenting lately and I've been more often absent than I am posting, but I'm still kicking around, never fear.

I feel terrible that I'm not reading much fic at the moment (

waddis - you have your own folder on my desktop at home in which I put all the chapters of Jack Sparrow that I've still to read - I will be catching up after November, and hey, maybe I'll even start commenting!) - I plan to go back and read the lot. I'm just trying to get through this month without chocolate covered coffee beans and without killing anyone. :)

Despite the broken wrist, I want to photoshop as well - I've signed up for an icon challenge which has awesome prompts, but I'm finding it tough to get the inspiration. It'll come, but it's annoying to keep opening and shutting that damn PS7 programme. Especially since my computer's not as young as it once was and it takes longer and longer to run a programme that's a big a memory hog as that one is. (And if Photoshop takes a long time, don't even get me started on how long it takes Premier Pro to kick in!)

I'm about four or five eps behind on most of my shows and although I do miss them, I'm not so antsy about them as I was this time last year. *shrugs* maybe it's 'cause there's so many other things going on.

And finally, and most randomly, in this random post of randomosity, I just have this to say:

Chris Kane is made of win.

Just 'cause. (I've been listening to Kane again lately and every time it makes me grin.)

m'sleepy...

who knew that fighting off zombie-like prisoners in a penal-colony who've been exposed to an out of control combat-enhancing drug, whilst simultaneously pulling bullets out of whining marines who can't even shoot out a windscreen without it richoceting back at them and treating plasma burns and dog bites and god knows what else, would be so tiring?

And it's only bloody Wednesday. Why is it not Friday yet?

Why, dammit!

Odour-free paint my arse

The painters are in the office right now, I've been in work for just over an hour and they've already had two tea-breaks but that's beside the point, we were told we could continue working in here because the paint is odourless. My arse.

I'm going to have a headache for the rest of the week now. Joy.

Did a lot of catching up on fic writing on Friday night, but it's all on my laptop which isn't networked anywhere at Wench's place so it'll be next weekend at the earliest before any of it gets posted I think. Talking it over really helped me get over this whole "Fics need to be longer!! Show and tell!!" thing that I had going. Now I'm happy to post the ficlets so long as they're complete. If they're 400 words, then that's fine, if they're 3000 words then that's fine too.

I'm off now to work out some of Sibeal's back story now, which has nothing to do with anything and definitely is not work related, but it's fun!

OH! SPN season 3 started back on ITV2 last night which meant the return of the scsposse commentary spamming - Demonic Cold Sores FTW!! And how long would it actually take to burn the evil out of a possessed body? I'm thinking 25 minutes to the pound on a barbeque-style pit?

random posts r us

I'm cold, I'm bored, work has me on punishment duty (aka Usage Stats downloading) and I want to write or play with Photoshop. For some reason work won't give me a PS license so the latter's out, and as for the former... well I have a million things to write and none of them are actually wanting to be written right now.

Plus I have a training session with a placement student for an hour this afternoon. I'm doing the training, not her.

So... this is an entirely pointless post just to say I'm cold, bored, and having that writers' block that involves fighting off the plot bunnies and still having a blank page in front of me

OH! I have to say thank you to three people right now:

I had a plan...

...today was going to be the day when I got caught up on everything. My flist, the housework, my writing, emails, texts...

and yeah, I got none of that done, so go me!

Looks like I'm going to again turn my back on tradition and end up doing housework on my birthday again. Does it still count as tradition when I've not actually followed it for quite a few years now?

Anyways... I'm posting 'cause I'm finally at home again (only for a couple of days) and realised that again it looked as though I'd vanished. I haven't. I'm just being lazy.

I swear I will catch up on everything tomorrow - tonight I am going to curl up with some a cup of cocoa and watch Love Actually for the first time ever. (Yeah... I haven't seen Bridget Jones either, I don't really do chick flicks...)

hopeless_cynic are both up from Sassanachland and over the weekend

dolly_drops (and others) were here to help celebrate KittyCat's and Wench's birthdays. So there has been much laughing, giggling, making of biscuits and cemetary cakes (Cake and Death) and general nonsense. So although I'm popping up now and then online, I'm not really able to answer comments or emails or anything right now. I will, I promise, it just might take me some time!

Fics I've posted lately, in case you missed 'em, Lacuna's Option, a Xander-centric Dawn story, post-Chosen, written for

emeraldswan's birthday.

More Than I Deserve - for

spn_halloween, my first Teen!Chesters SPN fic, completely gen, and I even make myself go "awww!" on re-reading it.

*grins*

NaNoWriMo... is currently still sitting at zero. Well, I did manage to get about 600-800 words done on Saturday before my laptop decided it was going to completely and utterly die on me, but I'm not too concerned because I have the hook and the story and it'll get itself sorted soon. I am a tad concerned about the laptop giving up the ghost, I may have to see if Wench has a monitor hook-up I can use to try to rescue all my files before I take it into a shop to get fixed (if that's even possible anymore).

Okay, I'm waffling now because for the... fifth day in a row I'm awake hours before anyone else and trying not to make too much noise. Damn it, why isn't everyone an insomniac like what I am?!

Been busy

Been busy this weekend, hanging out with friends, generally enjoying life for a change, and of course launching the sites - most of 'em, there's another to come once I get some issues with it sorted - and I've not really been online much. Or at home much. Or.. basically contactable. (The ducks might track me down if I give any more details...)

Been busy

Been busy this weekend, hanging out with friends, generally enjoying life for a change, and of course launching the sites - most of 'em, there's another to come once I get some issues with it sorted - and I've not really been online much. Or at home much. Or.. basically contactable. (The ducks might track me down if I give any more details...)

10 years ago..

10 years ago I wanted to sit Tarantino down in a room just to hear him talk about films. 10 years ago, I left uni with an honours degree in media.

Today? I'm watching the Culture Show on BBC2 (which y'all should watch, it's awesome) and seeing Tarantino on there, I still want to sit him down and talk about films. And music. And life. And... everything.

Seriously, I went to uni to learn how to do this stuff and now I'm working in a library in a menial job, Tarantino worked in a video rental shop and is now one of the most admired directors out there.

I want to hear him talk. To me.

yeah... playing with my layout, it'll be sorted soon, I promise!

10 years ago..

10 years ago I wanted to sit Tarantino down in a room just to hear him talk about films. 10 years ago, I left uni with an honours degree in media.

Today? I'm watching the Culture Show on BBC2 (which y'all should watch, it's awesome) and seeing Tarantino on there, I still want to sit him down and talk about films. And music. And life. And... everything.

Seriously, I went to uni to learn how to do this stuff and now I'm working in a library in a menial job, Tarantino worked in a video rental shop and is now one of the most admired directors out there.

I want to hear him talk. To me.

yeah... playing with my layout, it'll be sorted soon, I promise!

I should be writing

Or possibly working on PhotoShop since I have graphics to make for people (Sweet Charity and AVA BotB as well as a new layout for my own journal and sites). Or maybe working on the sites.

So what am I doing? Watching rugby and drinking beer.

(and also taking off and putting on a thick woolly jumper depending on which phase of the fever/shivers I happen to be going through.)

I have no motivation right now! I was tidying my desks earlier to avoid doing this ficathon fic that's due this week and I found my list of prompts I still have to write. I suck.

And yes, I have two desks in my living room - the corner desk I'm sitting at right now with the computer and phone on it, and the 'craft' desk beside me which has my paints, sketchbooks and pencils, beads, canvases and currently my laptop on it. (Plus my guitar is next to it, this is my 'creative' part of the room I guess!)

So yeah... I should be writing. But I'm not.
