eta not sure what's going on, the images are all coming up as broken right now but it might just be the library network - if they don't come back up can someone let me know? Also, I'll crosspost to the comms on Thursday. end edit

Again, resized and watermarked - if you'd like the originals, let me know which ones!

alas, there are no photos of the bizarre chamber orchestra... )

Again, please don't redistribute.

Yes, these are watermarked and yes the watermarks are bloody annoying, but I've been ripped off in the past and this is the only way to avoid this.

If you want the full-sized and unwatermarked pictures, please let me know which you want!

Please don't redistribute? Cheers!

So Steve Carlson's coming back to London in March. I'd kinda resigned myself to not going for various reasons, but [livejournal.com profile] aditu_az has just put the idea in my head again...

I just checked, I can get a Megabus for 11quid each way, the gig itself is a tenner. If I have to I could probably find a hotel room for a night.

Money itself isn't an issue (paying for things with no credit or debit card is, but that's another problem).

So... should I go? I really wanna but I don't want to make people uncomfortable. Which is possible depending on who else is going...

*is confused*

An if anyone would like to convince me to go by coming with me, I'd be more than up for that!

I'm at work. I've had maybe six hours sleep in total since Sunday...

But dude!

STEEEVE!

I apologise completely for the incoherency of the voice posts, although the last one, given that I was completely and utterly off my face, is remarkably understandable!

I'll eventually go through them all and transcribe them properly so y'all have a hope of getting what's been going on there although to be honest, you can probably just take the words "Steve!", "Coke", "Finally", "It's the only logical thing to do" and STEEEEEEEEVE!!!!" and rearrange them and you'll have the content of most of the posts...

*grins*

Got back to mine late last night after a full day's bus journey (why?!) and [livejournal.com profile] angelnetgirl and I pretty much just crashed after discovering that LJ was being arsey. Woke up when my alarm went off on my phone, but did I get up? No.. I sat listening to my ring tone for about a half hour before I heard Laura moving about looking for breakfast. It seriously is just as well she was there because otherwise I would still be asleep right now! Dropped Laura off at the bus station (after driving round repeatedly trying to find a place to stop to do so) and then got into work to of course find that nothing's been done in the time I was away...

Am planning on leaving here at 4, heading home to try to convert the video files into a more readable format and flipping them a little because I was thinking like a photographer rather than a videoer-type-person and have a lot of it portrait instead of landscape which... ooops? Looks like Steve's singing on his back for a fair bit of the time... and then I have to pack and then get the train and meet [livejournal.com profile] wenchpixie (going through Gilmore St at around 9.30 Claire?) and then getting the overnight bus down to London in time to meet [livejournal.com profile] aditu_az at the bus station and doing it all again for the Camden gig tomorrow!

I am clearly insane... (it's this damn work day in the middle that's underscoring the insanity really, the rest of it would be fine!).

Gig will be reviewed at a later time when my brain cells are all lined up and firing properly again, and possibly photographs as well because dude... some of them are awesome! (although there seems to be two random shots of my cleavage for some reason.. The first was to show the safe place my ticket was being kept, but the second? No clue. I had my jacket on in that picture (and obviously I wasn't taking the shot) so it was post-Steve!Bottle which would explain why I have no memory of it but...

I will reply to comments as well, I just... need to sleep...

And Steve! (who did my absolute favourite U2 song at the gig which I was so touched by (although I'm under no illusions there's no way he knew it was my favourite) that I had to hand the camera to [livejournal.com profile] kitty_cat89 because I couldn't focus... (Running to a Stand Still))

So it seems like lots of you are currently getting to see my boys and having a whale of a time. I'm insanely jealous and the only reason I don't hate you all is that you're sharing pics (and vids!) with me.

But this is the first year in four years I've not seen my boys play live and it's... not right at all. I miss my boys!

(And yes, I am kicking myself for having to say I couldn't go to [livejournal.com profile] acrazywench - it would have been all kinds of awesome...)

So, [livejournal.com profile] aditu_az has already said she would, but if any of the rest of you happen to see my boys in the near future, tell them they really have to come a little further north next time? Like say... Glasgow? Hell, if they need a place to stay, I got a spare room. If they need a place to put on the gig, I can make some suggestions...

I miss my boys...

Why is it that a phrase I say a lot - and have done all my life - now sounds like Billie Piper in my head... (and is immediately echoed by an eye-roll inducing "I think you need a doctor..."). *le sigh* Fandom is taking over my life.

I have a headache because I have had insanely little sleep. Got home from the gig around quarter to midnight and was a good girl and just went pretty much straight to bed. And didn't sleep. And was still awake at 2am. Finally got to sleep and then woke up again at around... 4.30 ish I think it was. And got up an hour later to get into work. So... I'm insanely tired right now and, in the words of La Piper, "My head is killing me."

Still - gig was a lot of fun - Divine Comedy who I've always kinda liked but never enthused over. Now? I must own every album and EP. :) Epitome of cool, it has to be said, much enjoyment had and a perfect cure for the doldrums I was veering into yesterday. I am so much better now, still ratty at certain people. Ahem. Sorry. Rant avoided...and I really am determined to have something written today and sent to be beta read. No, really. Next chapter of Final Straw is around 2,000 words already with a lot of story still to go (I'm already at 5,096 words of my 10,000 target and with this chapter being the *huge* story chapter it may end up taking me to the target on its own... *g*) And I really, really, really want to get back into the [livejournal.com profile] _dontcomehome_ story again. I kinda left them in a bit of a pickle (a phrase I have never used before and hopefully never will again...) and it's been bugging me for a little while now. :)

Now I'm going to make my headache worse by drinking coffee. Can't remember if it causes the brain to swell or shrink - either way, it can't be good. :)

I feel like Tigger today. I'm actually in a bloody good mood for once which is surprising even to me! The gig was incredible last night - The 'Phonics lost their way a little a few years back (J.E.E.P. was a good album but You Gotta Go There To Come Back really wasn't...) Language. Sex. Violence. Other? did bring them back to a pretty good level (and introduced the eye candy-licious new drummer Javier Weyler who was brought in after Stuart Cable was... removed from the band a couple of years back) but it was still not up the standard of what I think was their best album - Word Gets Around.

Last night was fantastic. Songs like Brother and Pedal-Pusher which I have a tendancy to skip when I'm listening to L.S.V.O? are so much richer live. And they played a helluva lot of songs from Word Gets Around!

[livejournal.com profile] smileawhile was with me at the gig and we've both agreed we're going back to the next one - but she will have to get a hold of the other albums and learn the words! Last week we went to see Franz Ferdinand in Edinburgh and were at the back of the crowd, it was a lot of fun but a lot more genteel than I'm used to at gigs. I was beginning to think maybe I was getting too old to be in the mosh pit or at the barrier. Oh no. Last night we were right down the front - not quite at the barrier but pretty damn close - and I had an absolute blast! There were two little girls in front of me for a while and I think it was their first gig. They were resolutely not moving to let anyone through but on the other hand they weren't dancing, or really applauding or cheering or anything. They were kinda sweet at the start but after about ten minutes or so they were actually just annoying me so I kinda drifted away from them even though it meant I was behind Gigantor for a while - really tall guy who was using his mobile phone to video a lot of the gig. That kinda pisses me off to be honest - part of the fun of being at a gig is actually being there - the atmosphere, the crowd, the weird feeling of moving without concious effort - that's being lost a little when people stand stock still holding a tiny bit of plastic over their heads.

Still, all in, the gig was amazing! Will catch up on the flist and comments soon - promise!

ETA {{hugs Angie & Monkey at work}} - I copied some CDs for them and they've just given me a big bottle of tequila as a thank you! Awww!

There was a time I wouldn't think twice about staying out all night and going to work the next morning. There was a time I wouldn't even have blinked at the thought of walking up the verticality that is Great George Street. There was a time I wouldn't have cared that I spent the best part of two hours last night perched on the edge of a barrier that was only about four inches wide (if that).

That time is long past.

Was at T in the Fringe last night. Franz Ferdinand. Fantastic gig, had an absolute blast. Really didn't want to come into work this morning.

And yeah, by the time I got to the practically vertical hill leading up to the library I went out of my way to walk along less steep hills. Probably ended up walking an extra mile or so, but my thigh muscles are actually thanking me for that right now.

I'm going to try to stick it through an entire day of work (or more accurately, an entire day of sitting in the office scrabbling for something to do) but I have no coffee. And Starbucks, Costa, Tinderbox and all the other random coffee shops are all at the bottom of Great George Street. [livejournal.com profile] engelsteorra? When you come in this afternoon fancy bringing in a grande Americano with at least one extra shot?*g*
