I may be fandom's bitch but...  
So yeah, I was never really all that content with the black & red layout over at my own site, so I've been gradually working on a whole new one. Which I'm happy with. For now. *g*

I'm trying to collect everything together and have a few more fics to upload, but I think that's me pretty much caught up with myself. *grins*

I'd love to know what you think of the new layout (and if you have your own site I'd love to link back to you!)

(Oh! Thanks to adorable and wonderful [livejournal.com profile] thedothatgirl, I have the ability to be only one episode of SPN behind come the end of the weekend. *squishy hugs honey!)

Very nice. I like your colour choices very much and the balance is good. Perhaps a bit female but I can forgive that. ;-P I did think that dark grey text on light grey background is potentially a bit hard to read though.

One other point: I don't know what sort of monitor you have but on my wide screen there's a lot of empty & wasted space at the right and left. See here. I don't know enough about design to know if that's inevitable - can you not define the widths of the elements as percentages of screen widths rather than absolute values?

Thank you muchly! I'm not 100% sure of the grey-on-grey myself, I think I'll live with it for a week and see how it goes.

As to the white space - on the graphics side, I prefer to have it set around the size of the banner so that explains why it's the case there (the site is designed around a viewing window of 1024x768 - my monitor at home is set to a resolution of twice that size). On the fic side, I decided to keep the layout matching in with the main part of the site, but I'm still not 100% happy with the display of the individual fics. I think I may work on that a little more and see if I can do the percentage thing on that part at least.
