World's safe, bored now.
I'm bored. I have a million and one things to do - not least the Sweet Charity work (Bella - you have become the latest victim of my psychic email issue. I read emails, I answer them in my head and then forget that I haven't actually physically sent an answer... [livejournal.com profile] thedothatgirl is the most common victim of my psychic emails, ask her how frustrating it gets!)

I also have to sell my house, which means I have to clean the entire thing, get my things packed away, and paint the living room walls.

What am I doing instead? Well I'm sitting in the library wondering how long I can justify being here and whether I can get any of the YouTube links from A3 to work on a public computer... Probably not.

Oh, also? I have a new plan for what to do with the Salt & Burn site asides from the fic archive and the awards. Unfortunately that plan is going to involve a far greater understanding of databases than I currently have. (Which, let's face it, wouldn't be hard 'cause I don't understand them at all right now!) So I'm sitting here with my rucksack full of PHP & MySQL info books and trying to understand floating arrays. So much fun.

They're not that hard. At least not if you're a programmer. :D

Now, graphics work. That's hard. :D

Good to see you're doing better.

The linguist in me insists on viewing any kind of programming as a language - which works fine for HTML and even to an extent PHP - I just hit a problem when databases become involved because there's something horribly like maths involved there.

I was good at 'higher' maths at school, it was the basics that tripped me up every time (I still don't really get how vulgar fractions work for example, but I was working with logs and calculus happily).

I basically just need to take the time and actually study what I'm trying to do instead of hoping for a quick fix. And I'm the world's worst procrastinator!

And graphics aint that hard - it just takes a little time. :)

I'm actually okay about selling it to be honest, it's just a hassle having to go through the motions of clearing it out to put it on the market again.

*hugs*

Hon, it's absolutely okay -- I do the same thing, or, rather, I think I should probably email the person back and then not get around to it for ages and ages. At least you think you're being nice and polite and responsible. . . .

'Sides, what with the moving (did I tell you? I'm moving next week, to a smaller apartment more than 25 miles away, with no budget for professional movers. Fun!), I've had no brain for anything else, anyway. Like, literally. I still haven't revised my BigBang yet, and that's due to be posted in, like, two weeks.

Take your time. I'm patient. ;D

I spotted on your journal you were moving - so much fun isn't it?

*hugs*

I'm really psyched about the ideas you have - definitely something I'm keen to work on for you!

Yay, I'm not the monkey executive!

And, oh yes, such fun to end up bursting into tears over a couch . . . among other things. I can't imagine trying to add in the stress of trying to sell your home to all that. *hugs back*
