Friend of mine at work is having trouble with her new broadband connection and asked me earlier if there was anything I could suggest for her and I've not been able to come up with anything her friend hasn't already tried.

Basically she can get online okay, except for sites like Gmail, Hotmail and her Sky email. She's using Internet Explorer 6 (I think) and can't download IE7 because the computer doesn't open the download window. She's running XP and it is a genuine version of XP that came loaded onto the computer so it's not an upgrade.

She was having trouble with the ActiveX plug in as well, but that seems to have been sorted.

I did suggest she try Firefox (or another browser) in case it's a problem with IE itself (other than, y'know, IE kinda sucking out loud...)

Any suggestions?

(She previously had AOL but has removed it from the computer, I'm thinking it's maybe screwed with her Registry keys somewhere along the line?)

[livejournal.com profile] thedothatgirl - I got a little distracted by the squee last night so I didn't get to do any more work on the AVAs, today - I promise! (If you have a template file for your tables/layout that's all I'd need for the voting (as well as the final list of options))

And I'll leave you with this thought: STEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEVEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!

I'm considering posting my Dark Angel drabbles to other sites/comms etc. Anyone have suggestions where I should be posting them? If I... y'know, actually get up the nerve to share them with people who've been in this fandom a helluva lot longer than I have...

Nineteen days.

I'm going to London in nineteen days.

I'm going to see Steve in nineteen days.

DUDE!!

Slept in this morning, swithered about calling in sick or not, but valiantly made it into work. Kinda glad I did because now I can get the pile of work on my desk done and out of the way and have STEVE!! to look forward to. *g*

[livejournal.com profile] smileawhile - got your text - I'd love to catch up this weekend! I'll text you as soon as I can find someplace in the library that'll let me get a mobile reception!

[livejournal.com profile] fresleyforever - also got your text, *huggles*

[livejournal.com profile] aditu_az - emailed you a minute ago, DUDE!!

[livejournal.com profile] angelnetgirl - you know you really want to come see STEVE!!

I also posted some more Dark Angel drabbles last night. Completing my claim for June over at [livejournal.com profile] fic_variations and I'll be working on the Willow/Xander ones today to get them posted before the deadline of the 5th.

And.. [livejournal.com profile] killerweasel has posted a link to the completely insane Jonathon Woodward's latest insanity over at [livejournal.com profile] j_m_woodward. Probably not really work safe to be honest...

Dominik has presented a bunch of things on TV and radio in the UK and he likes to think of himself as a 'cheeky chap' in a way that kinda works for breakfast radio - it did for the XFM Scotland radio station. I liked his breakfast show, and then in June we learned that he was leaving the station at the end of the month. Like many people I got in touch with the show on his last day to say good luck and thanks for the show. I got a reply. (It's semi-automated from the look of it)

the email (which had banners and links to his newspaper column in the Daily Star at the end, which I've not included here) )

So yeah... up until getting that email I was kinda feeling bad for him and interested to see where he'd be going. Now though... well, he can bite me. I'll be sticking with Julyan on XFM now. :)

Now I have to head into work and hope like hell I can take two days off on the 23rd and 24th because Dude!! Steve!! Acoustic in London!!

...and I'm just hearing on the news that a car's undergone a controlled explosion outside a Mosque in Glasgow? What?!

Got into work and checked the news. Apparently the car outside the Mosque wasn't subject to any specific intelligence that it was a threat but they cordoned it off and exploded it anyway. And there's also been controlled explosions at the hospital in Paisley where the guy who rammed the jeep into the Airport is being treated.

(And I've got the 23rd and 24th off on leave, now I just need to find a cheap way of getting to London that I can pay for with cash since I don't have any other way of paying now...)

eta y'know what's a really bad idea? getting a hangover on a Tuesday morning and coming in to find two Sparks fixing the light opposite you that's not worked for years, and for them to fix it and it to be so bloody bright that it feels like your brain's being fried. My eyes! Owww.

eta or maybe not so much with the hangover... Hello low blood sugar, haven't seen you around here for a while...

Although my computer's running slow so you've probably already seen this by now...

*huge grin*

Yeah... probably not a good idea to watch it at work (or if your parents are around Ash!) Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] x5vale for the link!

(and before anyone gets on their high horse, this is linking to Steve's record company's YouTube space, so it's all above-board)

(ETA btw... first time I heard this song I thought it would be perfect for a season seven retrospective Xander/Buffy vid. I still do. Any takers? *g*)

... sometimes there's just nothing left to say...

Still squeeing!

STEVE SPOKE TO ME... ON MY PHONE...

*squee!*

(Seriously, after the Jensen bruising my hand, the Jensen hug, and now the Steve late-night phone call? I don't think I'm *ever* coming down from this high!)

Real point of this post is to say that I got absolutely nothing done this weekend and if it hadn't been for the babysitting it would have been the best weekend ever. *huggles [livejournal.com profile] aditu_az, [livejournal.com profile] purplephoenix03 and [livejournal.com profile] wenchpixie for the fun of the all-night MSN chat on Friday night. When I signed offline my alarm went off - that's how long we were chatting, if it had been a work day I'd have been just getting up! - and I have the log saved. Just y'know, for blackmailing at some future date...

Will try to catch up with all the stuff I'm meant to have done soon - promise!

(Oh! And [livejournal.com profile] fresleyforever?!! We need to talk soon about [livejournal.com profile] spn_provenance give me a buzz if you're around?)

I'm spamming. I don't care.

I just spoke to Steve.

He asked what I was doing on Sunday night, I said I had nothing planned did he have anything in mind? I asked how the gig went, I have no idea what he said, I said "you have to come to Glasgow next time!" He said something about how he'd already heard that and was planning it...

I don't know what I'm saying right now! I hope to hell Cat remembers this better than I do because I don't remember it at all!

I think he blew my mind when he said "so what are you wearing?"

From then on I have no memory other than me being on the floor in my kitchen. Seriously.

CAT!!! MARRY ME!!!!
