So I've not been online much this week. Because I've been travelling the country in search of awesomness. AKA Steve Carlson. Luckily my travels happened to coincide with two gigs the man was doing and I found myself dragged into said gigs. It's almost like it was planned or something...

The gigs have been amazing, absolutely completely and utterly amazing.

We flew back to Glasgow from London this afternoon after being at a gig last night (also with Jason Manns who's gradually turing into a giant cuddly teddy bear) and am currently at Wench's place since I have to be back at the airport for 5.30 tomorrow morning to go to the Asylum 2 convention.

I realised as soon as I began typing this that I hadn't really mentioned all this on my own journal, so the random voice posts and general insanity over the last week may have been a tad bit confusing. Well, there's more to come. Trust me.

*g*

Go buy Steve's new album btw, CD Baby have it. Steve said last night that they'd run out so I'm not sure if there'll be any at Asylum - I hope so!

Also? Darren and Rosalee are awesome and genuinly lovely people.

And, my name is Sho and I have a pick addiction.

*g*

(finally - I still have the ink stamp from the bar on my hand. Anyone got some Swarfega handy?)

So, already I'm at around skip=eleventybillion on my flist and am so far behind on comments that it's making my brain hurt. I will try my hardest to get to everyone, but link me? Please?

Dear Steve,

Pimento, honey, pimento...

Yours, not obsessed with olives at all,

Sho xx

Dear Flist,

What the hell? It was the weekend, y'all went nuts and posted a million and one things! (I'm skip=100 already and it's still Sunday posts...) I'll try to get caught up, I really will, but it's a helluva daunting prospect right now!

Yours, slightly overwhelmed,

Sho xx

Dear Steve,

Your new album? Rocks. But dude, I'm thinking she broke your heart, whoever she was, do you need a hug?

Yours, reminding you again - pimento, dude.

Sho xx

Dear Jensen,

You like your country music dontcha?

Yours, appreciating the slide guitar,

Sho xx

Dear Wench,

Underground tickets. Knew there was a reason to get a zonecard...

Yours, nine pounds lighter,

Sho xx

Dear work people,

I'm not in the mood today, give me a break, 'kay?

Yours, PMSily,

Sho xx

Too late on that one, didn't even make it half an hour after posting. And no, I'm not sharing.

(Later edit:)

Dear [livejournal.com profile] bellatemple,

You're trying to kill me here aren't you? You should have mail now.

Yours, trying to get the hairs on the back of my neck to sit back down again,

Sho xx

I'm cold, I'm bored, work has me on punishment duty (aka Usage Stats downloading) and I want to write or play with Photoshop. For some reason work won't give me a PS license so the latter's out, and as for the former... well I have a million things to write and none of them are actually wanting to be written right now.

Plus I have a training session with a placement student for an hour this afternoon. I'm doing the training, not her.

So... this is an entirely pointless post just to say I'm cold, bored, and having that writers' block that involves fighting off the plot bunnies and still having a blank page in front of me

OH! I have to say thank you to three people right now: [livejournal.com profile] annemiek81, [livejournal.com profile] amy_star_ and [livejournal.com profile] _doodle - cards and stuff all arrived within the last week - I love 'em!

Also?

STEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (I've squeed on ither people's journals, but not my own yet.)

So today is Steve Carlson's birthday, and after all the squee and madness that was the Week of Steve, I couldn't *not* mark it, could I?

So since I fail completely at fanart these days, I give you a picspam! This includes images from his MySpace site and my own photographs from the recent UK gigs. My photos are watermarked because I haven't decided what I'm doing with them yet ('cause some of them are kinda awesome!)

So, Happy Birthday Steve!

(not dial-up friendly, lots of images here and each one links to the full sized version (which'll open in a new window))

Can't you see that reason has no relevance? )

I'm flailing a little because my damn Kodak EasyShare camera is not being very easy with the sharing... I can't get the software to work which means I can't upload my images from my camera which means I have all these pictures of Steve on there and can't get them off... I will though, if the worst comes to the worst I can go up to sister's house at the weekend 'cause she has a EasyShare as well.

*nods*

Also, the video files from [livejournal.com profile] angelnetgirl's camera are worrying me a teeny bit. I had trouble transferring them this morning from the camera to my PC and I wasn't really awake at the time, but they don't seem to be complete files. [livejournal.com profile] aditu_az and [livejournal.com profile] angelnetgirl? Tell me there are complete files there? Please?

But on the plus side, I leave in just under an hour to meet up with [livejournal.com profile] wenchpixie and then it's back on the bus for a while! And... randomly, my friend Gil (the girl who did the Race for Life this year, known to the BBBers amongst you as BibbleGal) emailed me today with the subject line:

Blummin Eck - Steve Carlson

She'd seen Steve walking down the street, had no idea he was in the country, and after I squeed at her a little and told her off for not having an LJ, I convinced her to see if she can get a ticket! She's emailed Eric (Kane manager) and has the Barfly number so the girl I haven't seen in *forever* and who I ran a site design company with for a while, might be able to come to the gig as well! Yay!

Anyways... I'm off to go pack now that my jeans are finally dry!

I'm at work. I've had maybe six hours sleep in total since Sunday...

But dude!

STEEEVE!

I apologise completely for the incoherency of the voice posts, although the last one, given that I was completely and utterly off my face, is remarkably understandable!

I'll eventually go through them all and transcribe them properly so y'all have a hope of getting what's been going on there although to be honest, you can probably just take the words "Steve!", "Coke", "Finally", "It's the only logical thing to do" and STEEEEEEEEVE!!!!" and rearrange them and you'll have the content of most of the posts...

*grins*

Got back to mine late last night after a full day's bus journey (why?!) and [livejournal.com profile] angelnetgirl and I pretty much just crashed after discovering that LJ was being arsey. Woke up when my alarm went off on my phone, but did I get up? No.. I sat listening to my ring tone for about a half hour before I heard Laura moving about looking for breakfast. It seriously is just as well she was there because otherwise I would still be asleep right now! Dropped Laura off at the bus station (after driving round repeatedly trying to find a place to stop to do so) and then got into work to of course find that nothing's been done in the time I was away...

Am planning on leaving here at 4, heading home to try to convert the video files into a more readable format and flipping them a little because I was thinking like a photographer rather than a videoer-type-person and have a lot of it portrait instead of landscape which... ooops? Looks like Steve's singing on his back for a fair bit of the time... and then I have to pack and then get the train and meet [livejournal.com profile] wenchpixie (going through Gilmore St at around 9.30 Claire?) and then getting the overnight bus down to London in time to meet [livejournal.com profile] aditu_az at the bus station and doing it all again for the Camden gig tomorrow!

I am clearly insane... (it's this damn work day in the middle that's underscoring the insanity really, the rest of it would be fine!).

Gig will be reviewed at a later time when my brain cells are all lined up and firing properly again, and possibly photographs as well because dude... some of them are awesome! (although there seems to be two random shots of my cleavage for some reason.. The first was to show the safe place my ticket was being kept, but the second? No clue. I had my jacket on in that picture (and obviously I wasn't taking the shot) so it was post-Steve!Bottle which would explain why I have no memory of it but...

I will reply to comments as well, I just... need to sleep...

And Steve! (who did my absolute favourite U2 song at the gig which I was so touched by (although I'm under no illusions there's no way he knew it was my favourite) that I had to hand the camera to [livejournal.com profile] kitty_cat89 because I couldn't focus... (Running to a Stand Still))

My Horoscope is starting to scare me: It's very sweet of you to work so hard for others. Awfully nice to take on so much on their behalf. Because they'll all be so wonderfully grateful. Not. Don't be so gullible, Capricorn - 'no' is not a dirty word. (from the Metro again)

So um... do any of you guys write the horoscopes for the Metro? Because they know me. They must do...

Made some icons last night - am kinda blown away with the response at the moment, although mostly it's the Jensen factor I'm sure!

Didn't manage to fix INAP yet, will try to fix it Sunday but...

Tonight's the Scottish Fen Posse Party! I can't actually believe it's come around so quickly! Yay! Can't *wait* to see you guys! (Damn, I just remembered I forgot to pick up my digital camera this morning - crap!)

And I had my MP3 player on this morning when I was first in the office, I was going to get water for the kettle and 'Come Around More Alabama' came on as I was walking through an empty office with a 2 litre bottle of water in my hand and I literally bounced on my toes and grinned like a lunatic. It struck me just at that particular moment that I'M GOING TO BE SEEING HIM IN THE FLESH ON MONDAY!!!!!!

*grins*

(I'm feeling better now, can you tell?)

Oh, and dude... I didn't realise how used to power steering I was until mine cut out on me last night. I drive a 1.4 litre Ford Fiesta, it's not a big car, but man... it's *heavy*! So parking at [livejournal.com profile] wenchpixie's place is going to be fun tonight - on street parking in a strange place with no power steering... yeah...

ETA OH!! [livejournal.com profile] wenchpixie and [livejournal.com profile] amy_star_ - thank you both soooo much! I got your beta comments on the fic and will be fixing it up and posting it soon! *hugs*

I started to feel almost human again by around three o'clock this afternoon (and I got to leave at 4 so it's all good...)

Got pissed off at people at work, ended up at second tea break I was the only person in the office actually working, which meant I had to get up and answer the queries at the desk twice. Not a problem normally, but today it was taking me ten minutes to walk the distance between my desk and the printer so getting up and answering questions? Not something I was keen to do.

Plus, I had to take a DDS (Document Delivery Service) payment by cheque - never done that, it was under five quid so I had to ask the DDS boss if there was a lower limit on cheques, she was on break and got all pissed off at me interrupting her, then she got pissed off when I tried to ring it through the till because it's a new till and isn't working. Yes, I saw the email from Monday saying the till wasn't operational but it would be within the day. Today's Thursday, by that email it should have been running for two days. It's really not my fault you didn't tell me it wasn't working yet.

And then, at exactly 15:46 (I emailed [livejournal.com profile] monkey_matt about it, that's how I know the time so accurately) the *other* person who should have been around to cover that tea break wandered in with a book in his hand and sat down. Of course there were no more queries from that point on but... (second break in twenty minutes from half three to ten to four, he came back with less than five minutes to spare).

....anyways....

I'm actually starting to feel better, I think the horse-strength antibiotics might be kicking in which is definitely a good thing because it means I can celebrate Winchester Day this weekend (which I learned today is a long weekend - who knew the library was closed on Monday? Not me...)

And STEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! soon it will be the week of absolute madness when I go from one end of the country to the other to see this man not once, but twice. *grins* Me? Obsessed? What made you say that?

Now I'm off to go curl up around a hot water bottle and watch some more Dark Angel episodes whilst trying to sleep...
